MGIS seeks an experienced Islamic Studies Teacher to plan, deliver and assess lessons in line with IB philosophy for KG1–Grade 9. You will teach Qurān, Seerah, Hadith and Fiqh in Arabic and English, fostering a values-based learning community.
You will collaborate weekly in English to integrate Islamic studies across Units of Inquiry, support student spiritual development, and create a positive, inclusive classroom aligned with Islamic ethics.
MGIS is an International School with IB certification where English is the language of instruction for most of the subjects Islamic studies are taught both in Arabic and in English to all the students from KG1 to Grade 9 The Islamic Studies Teacher will be responsible for planning delivering and assessing lessons that educate students on Islamic principles history values and practices in accordance with the IB philosophy The Islamic Studies Teacher will participate in transdisciplinary collaborative meetings held weekly in English to integrate the Islamic curriculum in the Units of Inquiry alongside the other core subjects of the IB school curriculum The ideal candidate will foster a deep understanding and appreciation of Islam inspiring students to apply its teachings to their daily lives and integrating them into the school routines and special celebrations The role requires creating a positive learning environment collaborating with colleagues and promoting the moral and spiritual development of students with an approach adapted to the age level of the students
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the Islamic Studies curriculum standards and objectives
Teach Islamic principles Quranic studies Seerah Hadith and Fiqh using engaging and age-appropriate methods
Integrate practical applications of Islamic values and ethics into lessons to promote spiritual growth
Establish and maintain a respectful and inclusive classroom environment
Set clear academic and behavioral expectations that align with Islamic values
Encourage active participation and collaboration among students
Design and administer assessments to evaluate students understanding of Islamic teachings and practices
Provide constructive feedback to help students reflect on and improve their knowledge and conduct
Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress
Provide guidance and mentorship to students on applying Islamic teachings in their personal and academic lives
Support students in memorizing and understanding Quranic verses and their meanings
Inspire students to actively engage in Islamic practices such as prayer charity and good conduct
Collaborate with colleagues to align the Islamic Studies curriculum and share effective teaching strategies
Participate in professional development to stay updated on contemporary Islamic education methodologies
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and character development
Organize or support school events related to Islamic occasions such as Ramadan programs Eid celebrations and Quran competitions
Participate in faculty meetings workshops and community outreach activities
Uphold the school s mission vision and values integrating Islamic ethics in all professional interactions
