Job summary

Misk Schools is seeking an experienced educational leader to support the Director General and Senior Principal across Kindergarten, Lower Primary Schools and Daycare. Lead by example, uphold values, and drive excellence in teaching, safeguarding and school development.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration with cross-functional teams within the Misk Foundation and wider education sector in Saudi Arabia.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required; NPQSL/CPML or equivalent leadership training is essential
  • Master’s Degree in Education or Leadership desired
  • Experience leading Kindergarten, Lower Primary Schools and Daycare systems essential

Responsibilities

Job description

To provide continual and unwavering support to the Director General and Senior Principal in all aspects of school life related to the Kindergarten, Lower Primary Schools and Daycare. Embody Misk School’s vision, leading strategically to ensure its realization in the Kindergarten, Lower Primary Schools and Daycare. Build and maintain positive working relationships with all members of the Kindergarten, Lower Primary Schools and Daycare community. Keep up to date with developments across Misk Schools, the Misk Foundation, and wider education. Lead by example, holding and articulating clear values and moral purpose with a clear focus on ensuring excellence for the Kindergarten, Lower Primary Schools and Daycare.

Areas of responsibility:
  • Establishing and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • Reporting to the Director General about the School’s operations and its strategic development.
  • The health and safety of all students, including their spiritual, moral, intellectual, social,memotional, and physical lives.
  • The development and well-being of staff, including promoting a culture where learning and achievement are at the core.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Vice Principals, Assistant Principals and managers in the Kindergarten, Lower Primary Schools and Daycare.
  • Oversee the systems and processes of the Kindergarten, Lower Primary Schools and Daycare, delegating effectively to the Vice Principals and Assistant Principals as required.
  • Continually develop and maintain the self-evaluation documents and processes in the Kindergarten, Lower Primary Schools and Daycare.
  • Support the Director General in the formulation and development of the school’s aims and objectives, working to implement them in the Kindergarten, Lower Primary Schools and Daycare where appropriate.
  • Implement and maintain the policies and procedures required to achieve the school’s aims and objectives.
  • Allocate staff resources to enable the Kindergarten, Lower Primary Schools and Daycare to achieve their aims and objectives.
  • Implement the quality assurance framework in Kindergarten, Lower Primary Schools and Daycare.
  • Implement the school’s appraisal processes in the Kindergarten, Lower Primary Schools and Daycare.
  • Implement procedures for the accurate collection, analysis, and communication of student progress and attainment in Kindergarten, Lower Primary Schools and Daycare.
  • Implement the Kindergarten, Lower Primary Schools and Daycare behavior policy and procedure.
  • In conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team Academic, coordinate the whole school calendar and work to ensure the overall smooth running of the school.
  • Working closely with shared services departments to ensure the school operations effectiveness to implement the required deliverables.
  • Planning and forecasting with shared services departments the semesters and annual requirements.
  • Under the agreement of the Director General, the direct line management of Vice Principals and Assistant Principals is required.
  • Support middle leaders with any issues arising in the leadership of their teams.
  • Building a team of teachers committed to the highest standards and continuing professional development.
  • Through effective delegation and shared responsibility, ensure that all year groups and classes in the Kindergarten, Lower Primary Schools and Daycare achieve the university’s attainment and progress targets.
  • To fulfill teaching responsibilities as required. Must be adaptable and open to the delivery of classes outside of their specific subject or age range to support the smooth running of the school.
  • To support with cover and duty as needed.
  • Undertake additional duties as and when required by the line manager.
Safeguarding:
  • The post holder will be required to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and follow the school’s safeguarding policies and the staff code of conduct. They will directly support the designated safeguarding lead as a priority to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students at the school.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (essential).
  • Professional development to prepare for leadership: NPQSL / CPML or equivalent (essential).
  • Master’s Degree in Education or Leadership (desirable).
  • Professional development to prepare for headship: NPQH / CPAH or equivalent (desirable).
Experience:
  • +5 years’ experience in successful leadership and management of a Kindergarten, Lower Primary Schools and Daycare with a proven track record of success in the role.
  • +5 years’ of teaching experience.
  • A knowledge and understanding of school self-evaluation and development planning.
  • Experience in line managing members of staff.
  • Experience in contributing to staff development.
  • Experience in strategic planning and delivery.
  • Be a collaborative leader and team player capable when necessary of decisive management.
  • Be a confident and impressive communicator who will command the interest and imagination of staff, pupils, and parents.
  • Be an internationalist who understands the particular needs of students and families living and working in Saudi Arabia.
  • Be a change leader aiming at excellence in all walks of school life with a drive for improvement and a culture of learning.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Be a skilled and innovative education leader who can effectively lead an outstanding school.
  • The ability to work as part of a broader organization, developing effective professional relationships with peers in other schools and other areas of the Misk Foundation.
  • Understanding of high-quality teaching and the ability to model this for others and to support others to improve.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Data analysis skills, and the ability to link attainment data to strengths and weaknesses in curriculum, pedagogy, and teaching.
