Job description

Since 2012, BECO Capital has invested in founders building technology companies across the Gulf and the broader Middle East. Today, the firm manages more than $820 million in AUM, investing from pre-seed through to pre-IPO through two strategies: Early Stage (pre-seed to Series A) and Growth Stage (Series B to Pre-IPO). Where we see an opportunity to build something exceptional, we also partner with entrepreneurs to co-found and incubate companies from inception.

Our compass is calibrated by conviction, not conformity. We support founders who understand the nuances of building in this region, and build category-defining businesses from it. As a partner to founders, we focus on what we do well: thought partnership, capital raising, and business development.

Over more than a decade, we have invested through multiple market cycles, helping founders navigate both periods of rapid growth and more challenging environments. That experience continues to shape how we invest, how we support entrepreneurs, and how we build lasting partnerships.

The Role

Our growth strategy is the newest part of the firm, currently deploying from Growth Fund I, and the Kingdom is central to it. This role is the senior investment presence for that strategy in Saudi Arabia, sourcing and leading Series B to pre-IPO opportunities, owning diligence end to end, and working directly with the General Partners.

Growth-stage investing in the Gulf is still being built. We are looking for someone who treats that as the opportunity it is, and who wants ownership to shape how BECO invests in this emerging opportunity in regional venture.

What You Will Own
  • Origination and market coverage. Build and maintain a proprietary pipeline of growth-stage companies in the Kingdom. Hold direct relationships with founders, CFOs, later-stage investors, bankers and corporate development teams.
  • Lead Due Diligence. Perform due diligence on new and follow-on deals end to end, building and challenging our conviction. Lead commercial, financial and operational workstreams, sequencing external advisors and keeping the process to strict timelines without sacrificing depth. Own research, market sizing, valuation modeling, sensitivity analysis to address risks and produce scenarios to test both MOIC and IRRs, cohort analysis, customer and channel references, and product testing.
  • Investment memos. Own memos and deal primers through to Investment Committee, carrying a clear recommendation and the reasoning behind it.
  • Exit strategy from day one. Map acquirer profiles, listing routes and secondary paths at entry and keep them live through the hold.
  • Portfolio value creation. Take an active role with portfolio companies post-investment, covering governance, reporting standards, follow-on strategy and the operational work that changes outcomes.
  • Legal execution. Work with counsel to negotiate and execute investment documentation, with attention to downside protections, governance rights and structuring across our fund entities.
  • Strategy and firm building. Contribute to the growth thesis, develop sector views relevant to the Kingdom.
Who We Are Looking For
  • 6 to 9 years in an investment role, spanning growth-stage venture, private equity, public markets, or investment banking. Part of that experience involves owning/leading transactions rather than support only.
  • Genuine depth in the Saudi market, including how businesses and sectors actually operate in the Kingdom, including how government agendas impact demand and how the regulatory environment shapes what is investable.
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent financial modeling and analytical ability, paired with commercial judgement. Precision on the numbers and a clear view of the business behind them.
  • A demonstrated record of preparing and defending investment recommendations in front of senior decision makers, including recommendations to pass.
  • Connecting the dots. You have a keen instinct to identify trends and hone in on what truly matters in a decision or scenario.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, able to compress a complex business into a paragraph. Arabic and English fluency.
  • Digitally native, and deliberate about using AI and modern tooling to cover more ground than the role would otherwise allow, without allowing AI to do the important work for you.
  • Existing relationships across the Saudi investment and founder community are a meaningful advantage.
How We Operate

Our firm operating principles are an active choice about how we work with each other, with founders and with our investors. You will be hired against these principles and reviewed against them.

  • Humility Is Non-Negotiable. We choose to build credibility quietly. Failure should humble us, and success should humble us even more. We speak about our work factually, we don't gossip, we don't posture. We are here to serve founders and investors.
  • Optimism Must Be Disciplined. We accept that we live in a world of uncertainty and incomplete evidence. Our craft is knowing where to apply optimism and where to apply discipline. We use optimism to define what's possible and discipline to test what's true. Positivity without rigor is irresponsible and naive.
  • Own it and Bounce Back. Mistakes and wrong decisions happen. When they do, we don't jump into defense or explanation. We reflect-first, take accountability for our part, and focus on solutions and applying the lesson in the future.
  • Think From First Principles, Always. Existing answers are not proof of correctness. We challenge whether the underlying assumptions and first principles still make sense because circumstances change. Independent thinking is the responsibility of everyone in the firm.
  • Respectful Candor Builds Trust. We are candid and welcome candor. Externally, we communicate transparently and honestly with grace. Internally, we are direct regardless of level, honouring our flat structure. All input and opinions are equal as long as it's well reasoned and delivered respectfully. We challenge and raise issues in real time and receive all feedback constructively.
  • Outcomes Over Effort. We value hard work, but we measure success by high-quality outcomes delivered efficiently. In teamwork, we win or lose together; the firm's result is everyone's result.
  • Endurance is Our Advantage. Enduring firms are built through consistent and compounding results. We maintain strong baseline momentum between intense cycles and continuously raise our standards. We do this sustainably by being hyper self-aware and constantly optimizing for keeping our standards high at pace.
  • Integrity Above All. Winning matters, being prudent matters, but never at the expense of doing what's right. All decisions are made with integrity first. We give before we get, and we are grateful for the trust placed in us by founders and shareholders.
What Success Looks Like in Twelve Months
  • You are generating a pipeline of growth-stage opportunities in the Kingdom rather than purely relying on and reacting to processes.
  • You have led at least one transaction from origination through to IC, with diligence and documentation that hold up under scrutiny.
  • Your judgement is calibrated. The IC views your recommendation as a genuine input to the decision.
  • Competitive compensation package, carry participation and medical insurance coverage.
  • Professional training and development budget.
  • Flexible working location and annual leave during the summer period, as agreed with your line manager.
  • Meaningful ownership of a new strategy at an established firm, with direct General Partner exposure.
