Job summary

WSP in the Middle East is seeking an experienced Interior Design Engineer to join our supervision team in Saudi Arabia. You will oversee interior design and fit-out on site, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, quality standards, and health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in interior design and site supervision on large-scale building projects.
• Previous experience on supervision or construction management projects in the Middle East, preferably Saudi Arabia.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office; strong knowledge of interior finishes and detailing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise interior design and fit-out works on site to ensure compliance with drawings and contract requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor workmanship, materials, and construction activities.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, mock-ups, and samples for compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, structural engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve design and construction-related issues.
• Monitor project progress and provide technical support to the Resident Engineer and supervision team.
• Ensure all interior finishing works meet quality standards and client expectations.
• Identify and report non-conformances and support corrective actions.
• Attend site meetings and provide updates on interior works progress, quality, and potential risks.
• Verify completed works and participate in snagging, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, safety requirements, and project procedures.
• Review contractor method statements and construction methodologies related to interior works.
• Support project close-out activities, including final inspections and documentation reviews.

• Familiarity with international standards, Saudi building regulations, and quality assurance procedures.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, and other relevant design and project management software.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Fluent in English; Arabic language skills would be an advantage.
