Job summary

WSP is seeking a highly skilled Interior Design Engineer to join our supervision team in Saudi Arabia. You will oversee interior design and fit-out works on site, ensuring alignment with approved drawings, specifications and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have a strong technical background in interior design, extensive site supervision experience, and the ability to coordinate with architects, engineers and contractors across multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality interior

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in interior design and site supervision, preferably on large-scale projects.
• Experience with supervision or construction management in the Middle East, ideally Saudi Arabia.
• Knowledge of interior finishes, fit-out methods, materials, and detailing.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings and submittals; familiarity with local regs and QA procedures.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office and related PM software.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English; Arabic would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Supervise interior design and fit-out works on site to ensure compliance with approved designs and contract requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor workmanship, materials and activities.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, mock-ups, and samples for compliance.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, structural engineers, contractors and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Monitor project progress and provide technical support to the Resident Engineer and supervision team.
• Ensure finished interiors meet quality standards and client expectations.
• Identify non-conformances and support corrective actions implementation.
• Attend site meetings and provide updates on progress, quality, and risks.
• Verify completed works and participate in snagging, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, safety requirements and project procedures.
• Review contractor method statements and interior construction methodologies.

We are seeking a highly skilled Interior Design Engineer to join our supervision team in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the execution of interior design and fit-out works on site, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, quality standards, and health and safety regulations.

The role requires a strong technical background in interior design, site supervision expertise, and the ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, consultants, clients, and multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality interior environments.

Responsibilities

• Supervise interior design and fit-out works during construction to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor workmanship, materials, and construction activities.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, mock-ups, and samples for compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, structural engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve design and construction-related issues.
• Monitor project progress and provide technical support to the Resident Engineer and supervision team.
• Ensure all interior finishing works meet quality standards and client expectations.
• Identify and report non-conformances and support the implementation of corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in interior design and site supervision, preferably on large-scale building projects.
• Previous experience working on supervision or construction management projects in the Middle East, preferably Saudi Arabia.
• Strong knowledge of interior finishes, fit-out construction methods, materials, and detailing.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with international standards, Saudi building regulations, and quality assurance procedures.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, and other relevant design and project management software.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Fluent in English; Arabic language skills would be an advantage.
