Job summary

Egis Group is hiring an Inspector (Civil/Structural) to supervise and inspect civil and structural works on PMCM projects in Saudi Arabia. You will ensure construction aligns with designs, standards, schedules, and quality requirements, coordinating with clients and contractors.

The role demands strong documentation, site supervision, and coordination across disciplines, with focus on HSE and project delivery to time and budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering and SCE membership is mandatory.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in construction supervision/inspection.
• GCC/KSA experience and familiarity with local codes are desirable.
• Proficiency with Aconex, AutoCAD, and MS Office; strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of civil and structural construction activities.
• Verify compliance with shop drawings, specs, method statements, and contract requirements.
• Monitor earthworks, foundations, reinforced concrete, steel erection, and external works.
• Witness inspections, testing, and quality control per ITPs.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain project documentation.
• Coordinate with PMCM team, contractors, and client representatives.
• Support project handover, closeout activities, and constructability feedback.

About the Role

The Inspector (Civil/Structural) is responsible for providing construction supervision, inspection, and quality assurance services on behalf of the Client under the PMCM framework. The role ensures that all civil and structural works are executed in accordance with approved designs, contract requirements, project specifications, applicable codes and standards, quality requirements, HSE regulations, and project schedules.

The Inspector acts as the Client's site representative for monitoring Contractor activities, verifying construction quality, identifying deficiencies, and supporting the PMCM team in delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Inspection & Supervision

• Conduct daily inspections of civil and structural construction activities.
• Verify compliance of works with approved shop drawings, specifications, method statements, and contract requirements.
• Monitor site activities including but not limited:
• Earthworks and excavation
• Foundations and substructures
• Reinforced concrete works
• Structural steel erection
• Masonry and architectural concrete works
• Roads, pavements, and external works
• Utility and infrastructure work
• Ensure works are executed using approved materials, equipment, and construction methodologies.
• Witness inspections, testing, and quality control activities in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).

Quality Assurance & Quality Control

• Review and verify Inspection Requests (IRs) submitted by Contractors.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems and PMCM procedures.
• Monitor material deliveries and verify compliance with approved material submittals.
• Witness laboratory and field-testing activities.
• Identify non-conforming works and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist in the issuance and close-out of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Site Observation Reports (SORs), and Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
• Verify rectification and completion of defective works.

Contract Compliance

• Monitor Contractor compliance with contract requirements and approved construction schedules.
• Assist Engineers in recording delays, deviations, variations, and potential claims.
• Verify quantities and progress of completed works for reporting purposes.
• Maintain records supporting project payment certifications and progress assessments.

Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

• Monitor field activities for compliance with approved HSE plans and procedures.
• Identify unsafe practices, conditions, and environmental violations.
• Report on safety concerns to the Resident Engineer and HSE team.
• Support implementation of project safety initiatives and regulatory requirements.

Coordination & Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate with PMCM Engineers, Contractors, Design Consultants, Stakeholders, and Client representatives.
• Attend construction progress meetings and technical coordination meetings as required.
• Assist in resolving site construction issues and interface conflicts.
• Provide technical feedback regarding constructability and workmanship matters.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare daily inspection reports documenting site activities, progress, quality observations, and safety concerns.
• Maintain inspection records, photographs, testing records, and project documentation.
• Record Contractor manpower, equipment deployment, and construction progress.
• Support preparation of weekly and monthly project reports.

Testing, Commissioning & Handover

• Participate in pre-commissioning and final inspection activities.
• Verify completion of punch‑list items and outstanding work.
• Support substantial completion, taking‑over, and project closeout activities.
• Ensure as‑built documentation reflects completed construction works.

What do we need from you

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline.
• Professional certification or membership in SCE is mandatory.
• Valid certification for construction inspection activities is an advantage.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in construction supervision and inspection.
• Aviation experience is preferred.
• Experience on large-scale PMCM, infrastructure, transportation, building, mixed-use, industrial, or utility projects. Aviation projects are highly desirable.
• Previous experience working for Engineering Consultants, PMCM Consultants, or Supervision Consultants preferred.
• GCC/KSA experience is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with local building codes, international architectural quality standards, and fire‑rated assembly requirements.
• Proficiency in document control platforms (Aconex), CAD software (AutoCAD), and MS Office.
• Strong eye for detail, quality control mindset
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
