Confidential Government seeks an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager to lead and optimize the company’s IT environment, ensuring performance, reliability, and security across networks, servers, and datacenters. You will oversee security defenses, outages, and upgrades while guiding teams and coordinating with stakeholders to enforce best practices and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • ITIL certification.
  • Certified Expert in Project Management.
  • IT Help Desk / Service Desk expertise.
  • 7–10 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial position.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly review and evaluate the performance and reliability of networks, servers, and communication systems.
  • Identify areas for improvement and ensure that IT infrastructure components are up to date and operating efficiently.
  • Ensure the proper configuration, implementation, and maintenance of firewalls, software, servers, encryption solutions, and internet connectivity.
  • Ensure penetration testing and security assessments are conducted to safeguard databases and other IT infrastructure components.
  • Implement and enforce security protocols and procedures to protect the company's IT assets.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of comprehensive support plans for all infrastructure components to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Prepare and manage operational and capital budgets to address IT infrastructure requirements across various IT operations.
  • Plan and execute infrastructure upgrade and enhancement projects to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Conduct comprehensive process analyses to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement within existing systems.
  • Implement and monitor operational efficiency initiatives to enhance performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented changes and make adjustments as required.
  • Assess current and future IT infrastructure requirements to ensure the company is prepared for technological advancements.
  • Monitor industry trends and technological developments and incorporate best practices into the company's IT strategy.
  • Implement capacity planning to ensure infrastructure scalability and support business growth and new initiatives.
  • Communicate infrastructure-related updates, changes, and issues to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Implement and maintain a comprehensive IT asset management system to track and manage hardware, software, and other infrastructure components.
  • Ensure effective tracking, utilization, and lifecycle management of IT assets.
  • Ensure regular audits of IT assets are conducted to maintain accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive procedures and plans to ensure the timely restoration of IT services in the event of a disaster or service disruption.
  • Conduct regular testing and updates of disaster recovery plans to ensure their effectiveness and readiness.

Job Purpose

To ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security of the company's IT infrastructure through continuous evaluation and improvement in line with best practices, while effectively managing resources and planning for future growth and disaster recovery.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
Operational Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the preparation of IT operations progress reports, as required, to support continuous improvement in IT performance.
  • Meet regularly with direct reports to monitor work progress, discuss updates and challenges, review recommendations, and take appropriate actions.
Qualifications & Experience
Academic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Professional Certifications & Licenses
  • Intermediate or advanced IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification.
