Job summary

Waseela Al Khaleej Communication Network Installation LLC in Riyadh is seeking an RF design and IBS/WiFi planning engineer to manage site design, surveys, and integration for DAS, LTE, and WiFi projects.

You will design IBS WiFi sites with iBwave, perform link budget calculations with Pathloss or TEMS, prepare BOQs and CAD drawings, and coordinate with Civil/EM teams and customers to ensure on‑time delivery.

Job description

Role Purpose

Manage and execute RF and capacity design for IBS WiFi and PTP solutions including Civil Works, CW, Electromechanical EM, and IP planning where required.

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare site design estimations in line with customer specifications, standards, and KPI requirements.
• Conduct site surveys, prepare layouts and technical reports for DAS, WiFi, and Wireless, and Civil/EM scopes.
• Design and plan IBS WiFi sites using iBwave and other solutions such as Active, Passive RRU, Passive Small cell, TETRA, WiFi.
• Perform link budget calculation for wireless scope using tools such as Pathloss, Redline Link Budget Tool or any vendor‑recommended software.
• Deliver final site design package including ISR, TSSR, LOS reporting and Material BOQ generation.
• Perform walk‑test analysis and provide recommendations for performance improvement and troubleshooting.
• Optimize design as per site needs & configuration.
• Prepare final acceptance documentation, including design modification, AS‑Built CAD drawings & verify customer specs validity before submission.
• Follow up on site installation progress and reporting.
• Conduct site acceptance testing & final acceptance reporting.
• Maintain and update site databases, including installation progress, material consumption and handover status.
• Assist Civil design team for planned solution requirements.
• Prepare distributed antenna system (DAS) plan & design for TETRA, GSM, UMTS, LTE networks using Visio, AutoCAD and iBwave design tools.
• Conduct link & power budget calculation & Bill of Quantity arrangement.
• Compile documentation, including TSSR design package, DAS installation quality documents, walk‑test result reports.
• Perform pre‑site survey, RF coverage survey, frequency scan test, and walk‑test review.
• Handle IBS and WiFi technical issues, including coordination, clarification, design validation & acceptance, standard negotiation with customers, and act as technical interface to customers.
• Use walk‑test execution and analysis tools such as TEMS or equivalent, reviewing performance metrics (Rx Level, Rx Qual, RSCP, Ec/NO, VSWR, PIM, RTWP, KPI).
• Prepare complete CFDED Electromechanical power and civil design, including electrical design reports, load calculation, cable and CB sizing, DC power analysis, rectifier selection, battery sizing, power generator analysis, UPS analysis, firefighting system calculation (FM200), HVAC calculation.
• Generate and estimate design BOQ; prepare necessary drawings.
• Conduct site survey for Civil and Electromechanical scope.
• Discuss all Electromechanical/CW design issues with clients.
• Lead and supervise implementation teams on field; survey market and review new equipment.
