Job Description

We are seeking a skilled HVAC / Refrigeration Technician to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all refrigeration and HVAC systems within the hotel. This role supports optimal guest comfort, food safety, energy efficiency, and environmental compliance. Working under the guidance of the Mechanical / HVAC Supervisor, the technician ensures reliable performance of chillers, cold rooms, HVAC systems, and refrigeration equipment in line with Faena brand standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain HVAC and refrigeration systems, including chillers, compressors, condensers, cold rooms, walk-in freezers, and ice machines.
• Perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration and cooling equipment to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and refrigeration faults in a timely and safe manner.
• Monitor system performance through inspections, gauges, and BMS where applicable.
• Ensure safe handling, storage, and usage of refrigerants in compliance with environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and system performance.
• Report major breakdowns or recurring issues to the Mechanical / HVAC Supervisor promptly.
• Support pre-opening commissioning, testing, and inspection activities as required.
• Maintain tools, equipment, spare parts, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and use of PPE.
• Stay informed on HVAC and refrigeration technologies, sustainability practices, and energy‑saving solutions.
• Support engineering team initiatives and uphold Faena’s operational and brand standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an HVAC / Refrigeration Technician in hotels, resorts, or commercial facilities.
• Strong technical knowledge of refrigeration systems, chillers, HVAC equipment, and controls.
• Understanding of refrigerant handling regulations and environmental compliance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Relevant technical certification or trade qualification preferred.
