HV/EHV Substation Construction Lead

Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Saudi Arabia seeks a senior project leader to drive the construction and execution of HV/EHV substation projects in compliance with SEC standards and approved drawings, project specifications, HSE standards and project schedules.

The role requires coordinating with Engineering, Procurement, QA/QC, HSE, Planning, T&C and subcontractors, reviewing method statements, ITPs and shop drawings, and ensuring timely reporting and project handover.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage electrical construction activities for HV/EHV substations.
• Manage installation of transformers, GIS/AIS, switchgear, circuit breakers, CT/PT, protection & control, SCADA, AC/DC systems and earthing.
• Plan and monitor construction activities, schedules, manpower, materials and resources.
• Ensure all works comply with SEC standards, approved drawings, specifications and applicable IEC standards.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, QA/QC, HSE, Planning, T&C and subcontractor teams.
• Review method statements, ITPs, shop drawings and technical submissions.
• Monitor project progress, identify delays and implement recovery actions.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, energization and project handover.
• Manage subcontractors and ensure productivity and resource availability.
• Coordinate directly with SEC/client representatives and consultants for approvals, inspections and technical matters.
• Monitor quality, NCRs and punch points and ensure timely closure.
• Prepare progress reports and provide regular updates to project management.
• Ensure strict compliance with electrical safety, PTW and HSE requirements.
