Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced HSE Inspector to join the Madinah supervision team on a major transportation and infrastructure project. You will conduct regular site inspections, monitor activities across roads and utilities, and verify HSE plan implementation to ensure Saudi regulations are met.

You will lead toolbox talks, assist in incident investigations, and coordinate with Resident Engineers, Contractors and Client reps on HSE matters, while supporting environmental compliance initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or diploma in safety, environment or engineering.
  • NEBOSH IGC is mandatory for the role.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or Working Safely is highly preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification is desirable.
  • First aid and fire safety training certificates are desirable.
  • 5–8 years HSE experience in infrastructure projects.

  • Coordinate with engineers, inspectors, contractors and client reps on HSE matters.
  • Support environmental compliance including waste, dust, noise, and pollution controls.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced HSE Inspector to join our supervision team in Madinah for a major transportation and infrastructure project.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with project HSE requirements, client standards and Saudi regulations.
  • Monitor construction activities related to roads, highways, utility corridors, underground services, drainage networks, transportation infrastructure and associated civil works.
  • Verify implementation of approved HSE plans, procedures, method statements and risk assessments.
  • Identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and environmental concerns and ensure timely corrective actions.
  • Review and monitor permit-to-work systems, including excavation permits, confined space activities, lifting operations, and traffic management measures.
  • Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings and awareness campaigns across project sites.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with project HSE requirements and recommend corrective measures where necessary.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with site safety procedures.
  • Maintain inspection records, HSE observations, audit reports and safety statistics.
  • Participate in HSE audits, emergency preparedness drills and management site walks.
  • Coordinate with Resident Engineers, Discipline Inspectors, Contractors and Client representatives on HSE matters.
  • Support environmental compliance initiatives, including waste management, dust control, noise monitoring and pollution prevention measures.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional HSE certifications: NEBOSH IGC (Mandatory), IOSH Managing/Working Safely, OSHA 30‑Hour (Preferred).
  • Valid first aid and fire safety training certificates are desirable.
  • Minimum 5‑8 years of HSE experience in infrastructure, transportation, and utility projects.
  • At least 3years of experience with an Engineering Consultancy, Supervision Consultant, or PMC organization.
  • Proven experience on projects involving: Roads and highways; Transportation infrastructure; Utility networks (water, wastewater, stormwater, electrical, telecom); Civil infrastructure works; Underground services and utility diversions.
  • Strong knowledge of international HSE standards and best practices.
  • Experience working on projects within Saudi Arabia or GCC is highly preferred.
