Job summary

A leading contracting firm in Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced HSE Engineer to support the HSE Manager in implementing health and safety initiatives. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience, strong knowledge of safety regulations, and a background in conducting safety training and monitoring compliance. This role is essential in ensuring safety standards are met at project sites.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years working experience, 3 years relevant experience.
  • Experience in GCC is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of the Project Health and Safety Management Plan.
  • Conduct training sessions and HSE Committee meetings.
  • Advise staff regarding accident prevention.
  • Monitor HSE activities to ensure compliance.

Skills

Knowledge of all relevant safety regulations
Knowledge in Qatar and International Safety Standards
Knowledge of integrated Management System
Strong knowledge of environmental regulations
Knowledge of Chemical Material Management

Job Summary

The HSE Engineer supports the Company HSE Manager/Project HSE Manager to implement the HSE management system. The role assists in planning, implementation, evaluation and analyzing HSE activities at site to ensure HSE target and objectives are measured and achieved.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation of and compliance to the Project Health and Safety Management Plan (PHSP)
  • Assist in the implementation of and compliance to the Project HSE Management Programme
  • Arrange, conduct and participate in training sessions, HSE Committee and Coordination Meetings
  • Advise supervisory staff with regards to accident prevention and improvement related to work methods
  • Assist in leading and supervising HSE officers onsite
  • Monitor the execution of HSE activities on a project to ensure HSE requirements are met as per the project HSE plan and HSEMS requirement
  • Ensure that existing hazards, unsafe work conditions and/or practices are identified on a daily basis, observation reports are raised and corrective measures are recorded
  • Ensure to address and report violations on a daily basis and make necessary recommendations
  • Monitor timely reporting of project HSE performance and ensure achievement of HSE goals on project
  • Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies
Job Knowledge & Skills
  • Knowledge of all relevant safety regulations, procedures and instructions
  • Knowledge in Qatar and International Safety Standards
  • Knowledge of integrated Management System
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, including air, wastewater, and hazardous waste
  • Knowledge of Chemical Material Management, including management of MSDS
  • Knowledge of pollution prevention and waste minimization initiatives
  • ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role
