Job summary

Rosewood Hotel Group is seeking an on-site engineer in Jeddah to support energy conservation and green hotel initiatives while ensuring safe, efficient operation of all hotel systems. The role requires daily task proficiency, courteous guest interactions, and teamwork with staff across departments.

The ideal candidate will be punctual, communicate progress to supervisors, and participate in front-line tasks during emergencies and with external contractors as needed.

• Support and lead the energy conservation program of the hotel.
• Support and lead the green hotel activities.
• Active member of fire intervention team.
• Must familiarize himself with the status of all machinery, equipment and systems at the start of his shift, and with all orders and instructions for operational control.
• Is responsible for the safe, efficient and economical operation of all equipment and installations and for operational repairs and maintenance during his shift.
• Will record readings and other information as directed.
• Will have control of all operational keys, engineering materials and spare parts during his shift.
• Will receive goods and supplies delivered during his shift.
• Ensures that safe, efficient and economical practices are being followed in accordance with the instructions of his superiors.
• Keeps his superiors fully informed on the progress of work and how it affects the operation of the hotel.
• Liaises with other departments to clarify the work required by them and to advise them as to the correct operation of equipment.
• Coordinates technical and other assistance to other trades and departments.
• Coordinates cost estimates for budget and other submissions.
• Familiarize himself for the availability of spare parts and local supplier.
• Reports to his superiors any information which would affect the operation of the hotel or the engineering department.
• Reports to his superiors any suggestions which might result in higher efficiency or lower operating costs for the hotel.
• Carryout the duties of a front-line crew in case of any fire emergency.
• Coordinate with CE/ACE to monitor and control outside contractors to carry out their task in a safe manner.
