Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts in Umluj seeks an Engineering Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on hotel facilities, systems, and equipment. The role ensures safe and efficient operation to provide a comfortable environment for guests and colleagues.

The technician will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, respond to maintenance requests, and keep detailed maintenance records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or technical/vocational certificate in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Building Services, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of engineering or maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Good knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to read technical manuals, drawings, and maintenance documentation.
• Basic English communication skills; Arabic is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on hotel equipment and facilities.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems as assigned.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and complete work orders within the required timeframes.
• Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities to identify maintenance needs.
• Maintain and repair hotel equipment to ensure continuous operation.
• Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance issues, and safety hazards to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Support installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment when required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and update the hotel's maintenance management system.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow hotel policies, preventive maintenance schedules, and health & safety regulations.
• Assist during emergency situations and support engineering projects as needed.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Engineering management.
