Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts in Umluj is seeking an Engineering Assistant Technician (Multiskilled) to support the Engineering team with preventive and corrective maintenance across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting and general building maintenance.

You will perform routine repairs, inspect facilities, follow safety rules, and assist with renovations while maintaining tools and reporting issues to the Engineering Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or technical/vocational certificate in mechanical, electrical, HVAC or related field.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and painting maintenance.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on hotel facilities and equipment.
• Carry out basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general repair work.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and complete assigned work orders.
• Assist in troubleshooting and repairing building systems and engineering equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
• Report equipment faults, safety hazards, and maintenance issues to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Support renovation projects and assist specialized technicians when required.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedules and departmental procedures.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, health & safety regulations, and IHG engineering standards.
• Record completed maintenance activities accurately in the hotel's maintenance system.
• Assist with emergency maintenance and after-hours repairs when required.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Engineering management.

Job Summary

The Engineering Assistant Technician (Multiskilled) is responsible for supporting the Engineering team by performing preventive and corrective maintenance across multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance. The role ensures that all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems are maintained in a safe, efficient, and operational condition to support exceptional guest satisfaction.

• Basic English communication skills; Arabic is an advantage.
