Job summary

Abdul Latif Jameel is seeking a General IT Services GM to lead and streamline complex software applications and day-to-day operational support for our enterprise systems, including AS400-based modules used in supply chain and logistics.

The role requires deep technical leadership, extensive AS400/RPG development experience, and the ability to coordinate with business clients to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions across the organization in the MENAT region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and Diploma in Computer Techniques are required.
• Twenty-five years of experience in application development and maintenance on AS400 systems and RPG400/ILERPG programming.
• Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Major Activities

1. Responsible for analysis and make necessary recommendations in areas that require a high level of technical competency.
2. Performs a variety of complex programming & development tasks, such as designing, documenting, and coding program logic, system flow document etc…
3. Provides technical training, guidance, and prepare SOPs for business clients and end users.
4. Provides application support and enhancements to existing applications. Defines system requirements, priorities, and viable alternatives.
5. Participate in developing key business processes and activities of relevant users, data models, system design, cross functional and technical requirements, disaster recovery planning, and interim business processes and data conversion requirements.
6. Prepare and review detailed project plan, impact analysis, monitor project progress and ensure successful execution.
7. Ensure the application software developed is of high quality and high performance in compliance and architecture.
8. Identifying and documenting all business, technical and process requirements working with the business clients to prioritize and rationalize the requirements thereby helping to define acceptance criteria for completion of the solution.
9. Receive calls from users from Whole Seller-Clients related to any problems in the supporting applications and work on clarifying the raised issues and find solutions
10. Performs a variety of complex programming & development tasks, such as designing, documenting, and coding program logic.
11. Provides application support and enhancements to existing applications for all and Wholesale dealers.
12. Piloting the newly developed modules and close monitoring the activities and carry out data analysis.
13. Analyze the business requirement, study impact of enhancement and develop the required modules
14. Ensure full awareness of the application users on new enhancement in the applications functions
15. Arrange for full testing of the new modules, and take users acceptance
16. Deploy the same in production environment through change management procedure
17. Monitor and online support during the month end in all centres
18. Day to day trouble shoot any issues related to application users and resolve then and their high availability in responding to business-critical issues within the SLA.
