Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced GCP Cloud Solutions Engineer to partner with customers and technology partners in delivering secure, scalable and reliable cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The successful candidate will play a key role in modernising legacy applications, implementing cloud-native architectures, automating infrastructure deployments and establishing robust CI/CD pipelines. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Python, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Terraform, cloud networking and Identity and Access Management (IAM), along with the ability to work directly with client stakeholders and provide technical guidance throughout implementation projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers and technology partners to plan, design and deliver successful GCP cloud implementation projects.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor, providing guidance on cloud architecture, application modernisation and infrastructure automation.
• Design, deploy and maintain secure, scalable cloud solutions using GCP services and best practices.
• Develop and maintain Python-based automation scripts, tools and microservices to streamline cloud operations and resource management.
• Deploy, configure, manage and troubleshoot Kubernetes workloads and infrastructure on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Design, implement and optimise CI/CD pipelines to automate application builds, testing, deployment and release processes.
• Use Terraform to provision, configure and manage cloud infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Design and implement secure cloud networking architectures, including Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), load balancing, DNS, routing and network security policies.
• Implement and manage IAM policies, service accounts and access controls in accordance with the principle of least privilege.
• Develop and execute strategies for migrating legacy applications to container-based and cloud-native architectures on GKE.
• Support application modernisation initiatives, including monolithic application decomposition and the transition to scalable microservices.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, application deployment and operational processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet technical and business requirements.
• Manage technical scope, project milestones, deliverables and dependencies while maintaining effective stakeholder communication.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud, networking, deployment and application issues, implementing appropriate corrective actions.
• Follow cloud security standards, infrastructure governance practices and established operational procedures.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation covering solution architecture, deployment processes, automation and operational procedures.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience developing, debugging and maintaining Python scripts, automation tools or microservices.
• Strong practical experience with Kubernetes, particularly GKE, including workload deployments, configuration, scaling and troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of GCP services, cloud infrastructure and cloud-native application architecture.
• Strong knowledge of cloud networking, including VPCs, Cloud Load Balancing, DNS, routing and network security policies.
• Practical experience implementing IAM structures, service accounts and least-privilege access controls.
• Proven experience designing, building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Experience with application modernisation, containerisation and migration of legacy workloads to cloud-native environments.
• Strong analytical, debugging and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to engage with customers, understand technical requirements and translate them into practical cloud solutions.
• Effective communication, collaboration and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with complex systems design, application dependencies, data flows and security boundaries.
