Job summary

Salla expands its merchant platform into the GCC and beyond, seeking a product leader to own market-specific adaptations and the expansion roadmap.

You will diagnose activation barriers, drive market-specific payments and compliance work, and align cross-functional teams to ship improvements across markets. Arabic fluency and Gulf-region experience are essential, with relocation to Saudi Arabia expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in product management, with ownership in ambiguous or early-stage contexts.
• Experience owning product for market expansion or geographic rollout in software/fintech/commerce.
• Deep understanding of merchant activation dynamics and activation rate improvements.
• Payments and know-your-customer fluency: gateway integrations and document flows.
• Familiarity with Gulf market realities: payment methods, VAT, licensing.
• Track record improving time-to-value in a self-serve onboarding.
• Strong analytical instincts and ability to measure without benchmarks.
• Experience leading cross-functional work without authority.
• Arabic fluency is a must; Gulf residency or regional experience preferred; willing to relocate to Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities

• Own the product roadmap for GCC expansion with a clear path to future markets.
• Diagnose merchant drop-off from signup to first order and ship product changes.
• Drive payments and compliance product work per market: KYC flows and gateway integrations.
• Decide per-market adaptation vs shared infrastructure and invest accordingly.
• Define and monitor metrics: time to first order, activation rate, 90-day retention, regional expansion.
• Build measurement framework where benchmarks don't exist.
• Lead cross-functional work across engineering, design, operations, legal, and local teams without direct authority.
• Communicate tradeoffs, sequencing, and pauses to protect focus.
