Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking an Associate for the Legal Entity Control team in Saudi Arabia. The role offers interaction with multiple business lines and internal stakeholders to drive legal entity controllership end-to-end.

The Associate will collaborate with line-of-business finance, operations, and the Legal Entity Controller community to support the Legal Entity agenda and regulatory reporting requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 3+ years finance/accounting experience
  • Strong accounting and analytical acumen with ability to explain income statements and variances
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including executive level presentations
  • Ability to work with others and liaise with business partners within entities
  • Strong initiative, attention to detail, multi-tasking and adaptability
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required

Responsibilities

  • Perform Legal Entity accounting & control on a monthly basis, including month-end close, parent/child accounting and inter-entity review
  • Conduct month-end analytical review and prepare financial reports and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Investigate, analyze and resolve issues and respond to ad-hoc queries
  • Assist in Booking Model review and ongoing Legal Entity Control Standard compliance
  • Control intercompany activity including variance commentary
  • Monitor the G/L including consolidation and netting
  • Participate in firmwide legal entity reporting projects and process improvements

Job description

Join a collaborative finance control team that is responsible for financial oversight of their legal entity and is tasked with ensuring that a strong control environment exists as it relates to all businesses, products and operational areas that impact the Legal Entity financials and regulatory reporting of the firm

As an Associate within the Legal Entity Control team, you will provide an opportunity to interact with multiple lines of business and internal stakeholders while learning legal entity controllership end-to-end. The Associate will liaise with the line of business finance teams, operations, and the Legal Entity Controller community to drive the Legal Entity agenda.

Job responsibilities:
  • Perform Legal Entity accounting & control on a monthly basis, including month-end close process, parent/child accounting, equity pick up, review of inter-entity breaks, and unnatural general ledger balance monitoring
  • Conduct Month-End analytical review of the legal entity to ensure completeness and accuracy of the financial statements and preparation of various reports, including contributions to the Monthly Controller’s Book, as well as Legal Entity and line of business financial commentary and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Investigate, analyze and resolve issues and response to ad-hoc queries
  • Assist in the Booking Model review and on-going Legal Entity Control Standard compliance monitoring
  • Control Intercompany Activity including variance commentary
  • Monitor the G/L including consolidation and netting
  • Participate in Firmwide legal entity reporting projects including infrastructure and process improvement efforts and other Controller initiatives as needed
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related business field
  • 3+ years finance/accounting – related experience
  • Strong accounting and analytical acumen, with ability to understand, produce and explain income statement and balance sheet content and variances
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to prepare executive level presentations
  • Ability to work effectively with others, as well as act as an effective liaison with all business partners within the lines of business or legal entity chains
  • Strong initiative and work ethic, superior attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work well under pressure, with an ability to be flexible in a dynamic and challenging environment
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
  • CPA is a plus
