Lucid Motors Middle East in Saudi Arabia seeks a hands-on Controls Engineer to develop, commission, sustain, and improve PLC/HMI/SCADA integration across AMP-2 Drive Unit and HV Battery assembly. You will ensure production readiness, safety compliance, and traceability in a high‑velocity EV manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include PLC programming, FAT/SAT execution, MES/APM integration, OT cybersecurity, vision systems, robotics interfaces, and capability transfer to Saudi engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls, Automation, Mechatronics Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 3-5 years of hands-on PLC-based discrete automation.
• Automotive EV, powertrain, or comparable advanced manufacturing experience preferred.
• Fluent English; Arabic language strongly preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot schematics, I/O, networks, panels, and safety circuits using structured RCA.

Responsabilités

• Develop, test, and sustain PLC programs, function blocks/AOIs, data structures, and interfaces for DU and HV Battery equipment.
• Control software changes through backup, impact/risk assessment, peer review, approval, validation, revision history, rollback readiness, and post-change archive.
• Troubleshoot PLC, I/O, sequencing, interlock, electrical, network, and safety faults; complete RCA and corrective actions.
• Execute FAT/SAT for controls; own punch-list closure, supplier retest, and handover of as-built code and manuals.
• Develop HMI/SCADA screens, alarms, diagnostics, and historian tags to improve troubleshooting and MTTR.
• Integrate PLCs with MES/APM/LMIS using OPC-UA; validate machine states, genealogy, and traceability end to end.
• Configure and troubleshoot EtherNet/IP, switches; follow OT cybersecurity and change-control standards.
• Deploy vision systems and FANUC robot interfaces; commission VFDs, servos, encoders, and motion controls.
• Support safety changes and ISO/IEC governance; comply with SASO and Saudi labor requirements.
• Provide production support from commissioning through ramp; analyze downtime and implement permanent countermeasures.
• Deliver structured OJT and training materials for Saudi engineers/technicians.
