Job summary

CATL invites engineers to join our energy storage commissioning team in Saudi Arabia. You will participate in the commissioning, delivery, and acceptance of large-scale BESS projects, ensuring safety, quality and schedule adherence on site.

Responsibilities include on-site commissioning and troubleshooting of FSS, HVAC/TMS, DC/AC circuits, BMS/PCS/EMS, SAT testing, grid connection, and customer training. You will collaborate with R&D, QA, and project teams to resolve issues and deliver projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant engineering field.
• 1–3 years experience in electrical equipment commissioning or energy projects.
• Knowledge of BMS, PCS, EMS basics; PV/BESS familiarity.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Fluent English for on-site communication.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work at overseas project sites.

Responsibilities

• Participate in commissioning, delivery, and SAT for large-scale BESS projects.
• Perform commissioning, troubleshooting, and defect resolution for battery containers and systems (FSS, HVAC/TMS, 1500V DC, 220/400V AC, BMS).
• Assist with commissioning of PCS and EMS basics.
• Provide on-site issue analysis, fault diagnosis, and corrective actions with project team.
• Support site Acceptance Testing, grid connection tests, and project acceptance activities.
• Assist customer training on system operation and maintenance.
• Track issues to closure and ensure on-time delivery.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, After-Sales, PM to resolve site issues.
• Comply with EHS requirements and safe execution of all commissioning activities.

Responsibilitie s

• Participate in the commissioning, project delivery, and acceptance of large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
• Perform commissioning, troubleshooting, and defect resolution for battery containers/cabinets, including:Fire Suppression System (FSS),Liquid Cooling System (HVAC/TMS),DC Circuits (up to 1500V DC),Auxiliary AC Circuits (220V/400V AC),BMS Communication Systems
• Assist with the commissioning of PCS (Power Conversion System) and EMS (Energy Management System), with a basic understanding of their operating principles.
• Support on-site issue analysis, fault diagnosis, corrective actions, and issue closure together with the project team.
• Participate in Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), grid connection testing, and project acceptance activities.
• Support customer training on system operation, maintenance, and product usage.
• Track commissioning issues through to closure and ensure projects are delivered according to schedule.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, After-Sales Service, Project Management, etc.) to resolve site issues efficiently.
• Comply with EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) requirements and ensure safe execution of all commissioning activities.

Qualification s

• Bachelor's degree or above.
• Preferred majors include Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy Technology, or related disciplines.
• 1-3 years of experience in electrical equipment commissioning, energy projects, or related industries.
• Familiarity with one or more of the following areas:Basic knowledge of primary and secondary electrical systems;
• Energy storage systems, photovoltaic (PV) systems, and power systems;Basic principles of BMS, PCS, and EMS;Industrial communication protocols such as CAN and Modbus RTU/TCP;Communication networks and fieldbus technologies.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and communication topology drawings.
• Knowledge of BESS grid-connection processes, substation equipment, and power plant delivery procedures is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other standard office software.
• Strong analytical, communication, coordination, and teamwork skills.
• Fluent in English for daily work and on-site communication.
• Willingness to travel extensively and undertake long-term assignments at project sites overseas

Preferred Qualification s

• Experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), photovoltaic (PV), or wind power projects
• Low-voltage and/or high-voltage electrical certification, or equivalent electrical qualifications
• Experience working on international projects or in a multicultural environment.
