Project Overview

The Ar Rjum Project comprises a green field gold project with three open pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpile, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water supply, power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, temporary and permanent accommodation village.

The Project is situated within the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh and about 26 km South of Al Mouwayh, which is a small town situated on the Jeddah - Riyadh highway.

Job Summary

In this role, you will establish industrial hygiene processes and programs on large or complex projects or facilities, using judgment, experience, and science to reduce the potential for adverse impacts. You will conduct research and assessments, analyze data, track performance and trends, and provide input on bid decisions. Your methods of controlling potential health hazards will keep employees working safely.

Major Responsibilities

• Facilitates execution of the Industrial Hygiene (IH) component of an ESH Program inclusive of technical and administrative aspects.
• Helps prepare and implement Safety and Health Management Plan, associated plans and procedures, and training program.
• Provides input to Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Subcontracts, Commissioning, and other groups involving IH issues, risks, and techniques to reduce adverse impacts.
• Interprets and integrates IH requirements in proposals, planning documents, risk assessment, and ESH program execution.
• Researches moderately complex issues and regulatory requirements, performs studies and risk assessments, and prepares documentation and reports.
• Provides support and guidance for IH studies, risk assessments, and program reviews and audits.
• Helps establish emergency preparedness and performs incident investigations.
• Participates in, or leads, meetings with customers, team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Conducts ESH inspections and IH monitoring and sampling to identify hazards and risks, evaluate controls and corrective actions, and assess compliance with contract, regulatory, project, and Bechtel requirements.
• Provides support on bid proposals inclusive of documentation, estimates, and compliance with IH requirements.
• Maintains working relationship with clients, team leaders and other ES&H team members.
• Develops and maintains the project Occupational Health Program (OHP)
• Evolves and adapts the OHP through the project stages.

Education And Experience Requirements

Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) related to industrial hygiene and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
