Job summary

UCC Holding is seeking an Environmental Officer to uphold industry best practices, identify and distribute information on environmental programs, and promote sustainable development across local, regional, and international levels.

The role involves developing EMPs, implementing HSE strategy, monitoring environmental impacts, conducting environmental aspects analyses, and advising on improvements across projects and operations. Strong collaboration and training initiatives are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or related field mandatory.
• NEBOSH diploma or Lead Auditor ISO certificates preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in environmental field required.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements environmental requirements for projects, yards and facilities.
• Implements Environment Management Plan (EMP) and supports project HSE strategy.
• Identify and distribute information on environmental programs promoting sustainable development.
• Monitor environmental impact and develop adaptive management to mitigate risks.

Job Summary:

The Environmental Officer adheres to best industry practices, both in terms of result and effectiveness, in order to identifies and distributes information on environmental programs that incorporate sustainable development. Encourages projects to apply environment principles and participate in sustainable development programs and activities at local, regional, and international levels; and keeps abreast of international developments that can contribute to environmental best practices.

Job Responsibility:

• Responsible for all environmental matters for project, yard and facility based on assignment, including developing environmental requirements.
• Implements Environment Management Plan (EMP) and supports development of project HSE strategy, often would be responsible for section or/and project.
• Identify and distribute information on environmental programs that incorporate sustainable development.
• Monitor the impact of the operation on the natural environment, identify areas of risk and develop adaptive management strategies to mitigate impacts.
• Conducts Environment Aspects and Impacts Analysis for all working sites.
• Adoptability of appropriate suggestions and recommendations to be enacted for the positive enhancement of the environment.
• Ensures that the negative and significant impacts of the project activities should be limited, reduced and controlled to bring about the positive changes.
• The continual improvement will be examined and kept intact by continuous monitoring, checking and evaluating the existing operational process of the system.
• Recommends all the environment positive enhancement tools for air, water, land ,noise, dust, waste, processes etc. and accordingly will be discussed, planned, suggested , implemented and evaluated for operations.

• Assisting in preparing service proposal tender and project bidding documents particularly in environment and sustainability.
• Ensure to meet and satisfy all the requirements as per the set criteria and proposed requests.
• Amends proposals implementation as per the emerged provisions and propositions.
• Complies with all organization and other legislative requirements.
• Promote and develop environmental awareness, training and program for all operations.
• Conducts environmental awareness training program across operations to boost the positive attitude approach among employees and workers towards environment positive development.
• Suggests practical methodologies/ measures for existing and emerging environmental issues.
• Provides HSE trainings.
• Ensure that environment positive approach and initiatives of the employees/workers should be implemented and acknowledged.
• Ensure to identify and meet the overall objectives and objectives set by HSE Department.
• Ensures that all the environmental objectives and targets should be reviewed and evaluated.
• Discuss all the environment objectives and targets with the head of HSE Department ( in the project) /project HSE manager and accordingly, propose for all the operations for the effective implementation.
• Evaluates Environment objectives and targets from time to time for continual improvement.
• Act as a technical expert and catalyst to provide guidance, advice and support to sites and projects on environmental related issues.
• Recommends technical advices, measures and methodologies to meet the emerged issues.
• Advises on management and containment for all kind of environment issues.
• Ensures that occurrence and reoccurrence of environmental incidences and accidents should not take place.

Experience and Education:

Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, environmental management or any related field.

Diploma in NEBOSH or Lead Auditor certifications in ISO 9001, ISO 1401, ISO 45001, and ISO 22301 are preferred
