Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks an experienced Environmental Manager to lead environmental management for major building and hospitality developments in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role oversees EMS implementation, regulatory compliance, and audits across all project phases.

You will manage environmental risks, guide contractors and stakeholders, and drive sustainability programs in a complex multi-use construction setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• Master's degree in Environmental Management or Sustainability preferred.
• 12–15 years of experience in environmental management on large-scale construction projects.
• Experience on site supervision consultancy projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi environmental regulations and international standards.
• Certifications such as ISO 14001 Lead Auditor or NEBOSH Environmental Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the project's Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
• Ensure compliance with Saudi environmental legislation, municipal regulations, permit requirements, and client standards.
• Monitor contractor compliance with environmental obligations and approved procedures.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and environmental assessments to identify risks.
• Review and approve contractors' EMS, risk assessments, and control measures.
• Monitor waste management, air quality, water management, and pollution prevention.
• Investigate environmental incidents and ensure corrective actions.
• Coordinate with authorities and stakeholders on reporting and permits.
• Prepare environmental performance and audit reports for the client and project team.
• Promote environmental awareness and sustainability initiatives among the project team.
