Job Summary
Environmental Lead – Airport Infrastructure (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) – a full‑time position with Parsons Corporation. The role leads environmental management, compliance monitoring, impact mitigation, sustainability tracking, and regulatory coordination across major airport infrastructure construction works.

Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of the project Environmental Management Plan across airport infrastructure construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits, airport authority requirements, client standards, and project procedures.
- Monitor environmental performance across contractors, construction areas, work packages, and site activities.
- Support environmental approvals, regulatory submissions, permit processes, compliance reporting, and authority coordination.
- Review and support environmental impact assessments for airport infrastructure works.
- Identify environmental risks and recommend practical mitigation measures for construction impacts.
- Monitor contractor implementation of environmental mitigation strategies across assigned packages.
- Ensure sensitive environmental receptors are protected during construction activities.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify environmental compliance and field implementation of control measures.
- Monitor air quality, noise, vibration, water quality, soil conditions, waste handling, and related environmental indicators.
- Verify proper waste segregation, storage, handling, transport, and disposal practices.
- Check contractor adherence to environmental controls, procedures, permit conditions, and reporting requirements.
- Support sustainability initiatives related to energy efficiency, water conservation, emissions reduction, and responsible resource management.
- Promote sustainable construction practices across project teams, contractors, and site personnel.
- Assist in tracking environmental performance indicators, sustainability KPIs, and project environmental targets.
- Support implementation of green building requirements, aviation sustainability standards, and airport sustainability frameworks where applicable.
- Liaise with environmental regulators, airport authorities, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Participate in environmental coordination meetings, audits, inspections, workshops, and progress reviews.
- Address environmental concerns raised by stakeholders, regulators, airport authorities, contractors, or project teams.
- Prepare environmental monitoring reports, compliance documentation, inspection summaries, and performance updates.
- Maintain records of environmental inspections, incidents, corrective actions, monitoring results, permits, and compliance evidence.
- Support monthly and quarterly environmental performance reports for management, client, and stakeholder review.
- Document environmental nonconformances, assign follow‑up actions, and track closure through agreed corrective measures.
- Investigate environmental incidents, spills, non‑compliance events, and environmental complaints.
- Support root cause analysis, corrective action planning, preventive measures, and effectiveness checks.
- Ensure environmental issues are closed in a timely and properly documented manner.
- Conduct environmental awareness sessions for site personnel, contractors, supervisors, and project teams.
- Support induction training programmes covering environmental requirements, site controls, waste procedures, and reporting responsibilities.
- Promote environmental responsibility, sustainable behavior, and a strong compliance culture across the project.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in environmental performance, reporting quality, and contractor accountability.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in Environmental Management is an advantage.
- Minimum 10years of environmental management experience within infrastructure, construction, airport, transportation, or large‑scale civil engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of environmental compliance requirements in construction environments.
- Good understanding of environmental regulations, EIA processes, EMP implementation, permit conditions, and mitigation planning.
- Knowledge of ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems.
- Familiarity with environmental monitoring tools, reporting systems, inspection processes, and compliance documentation.
- Experience coordinating with environmental regulators, airport authorities, consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Professional certification in environmental management such as IEMA, CIWEM, or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience in GCC or international airport infrastructure projects is desirable.
- Familiarity with ICAO environmental guidelines and aviation sustainability frameworks is preferred.
- Experience in FIDIC‑based project environments is an advantage.
- Knowledge of carbon accounting, ESG reporting frameworks, emissions tracking, and sustainability reporting is beneficial.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret environmental data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
