Job summary

alfanar is seeking a Planning Engineer in Riyadh to own day-to-day scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting across multiple real estate development projects. You will collaborate with site teams, project managers, and client-side planners to ensure schedules are accurate, credible, and actionable.

The role focuses on Primavera P6 scheduling, baseline management, weekly progress updates, and variance analysis, with alignment to cost control and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 4–6 years of project planning experience.
• Experience with Primavera P6 scheduling.
• Familiarity with risk assessment and compliance processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, structure, and maintain detailed project schedules in Primavera P6 covering civil, MEP, finishing, mobilization, and handover activities.
• Collect, verify, and update site progress data on a weekly or bi-weekly basis and produce dashboards.
• Track performance using Earned Value Management including SPI, CPI, and forecast-at-completion trends; coordinate with cost control.
• Perform planned activities to meet delivery schedules and report deviations with execution updates.
• Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures and seek automation opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental management procedures.

The Planning Engineer supports large-scale real estate development projects by owning the day-to-day scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting cycle across multiple concurrent projects. Functional Responsibilities

Schedule Development & Baseline Management

• Develop, structure, and maintain detailed project schedules in Primavera P6 covering civil, MEP, finishing, mobilization, and handover activities.
• Build and validate the Work Breakdown Structure, activity logic, durations, dependencies, and baseline revisions.
• Manage change control for baseline revisions and ensure approved schedules remain aligned with project execution strategy.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

• Collect, verify, and update site progress data on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
• Prepare S-curves, look-ahead schedules, manpower/resource histograms, progress reports, and management dashboards.
• Perform schedule variance analysis, identify critical path shifts and delay causes, and recommend recovery actions.

Earned Value & Coordination

• Track performance using Earned Value Management including SPI, CPI, and forecast-at-completion trends.
• Coordinate with cost control to support cost/schedule integration and a single source of truth for project status.
• Participate in progress meetings, follow up on actions, and align reporting formats with client and consultant requirements.
