To plan, coordinate, and execute preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities for all Medium Voltage (MV) electrical systems, ensuring maximum reliability, safety, and cost efficiency. The role focuses on maintaining high-quality standards, minimizing downtime, and continuously improving equipment performance while strictly adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform operation and maintenance of Medium Voltage (MV) systems, including MV standby generators, to ensure reliable and continuous power supply.
- Implement and execute preventive and corrective maintenance programs for MV electrical systems in accordance with approved maintenance plans and schedules.
- Manage document control for as-built drawings, operation manuals, maintenance manuals, and all relevant manufacturer technical documentation.
- Stay updated on technological advancements, industry trends, and best practices related to Medium Voltage power distribution systems.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance procedures for MV substations, transformers, switchgears, and associated equipment.
- Inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-ups, and collect operational data for Medium Voltage electrical systems, including power metering and monitoring systems.
- Identify the source of electrical breakdowns, establish accurate diagnostics, and conduct root cause analysis for faults across electrical installations.
- Provide technical advice and training to users and technicians and ensure technical data and system documentation are regularly updated.
- Manage and maintain accurate maintenance reports, logs, and performance records.
- Execute maintenance plans for transformers, capacitors, insulators, lightning arresters, switches, circuit breakers, and all accessories associated with Medium Voltage distribution systems.
- Ensure full compliance with company safety, health, and environmental (HSE) policies, safe work systems, and permit-to-work requirements.
- Coordinate with the Optimization Team to ensure work orders are generated for all electrical activities and that all system information is accurately updated.
- Maintain safety, discipline, and housekeeping standards within all work areas.
- Ensure strict compliance with Fatal Risk Standards, Safe Work Practices, and HSE policies at all times.
- Report all accidents, incidents, and near-misses in accordance with established safety reporting procedures.
- Maintain continuous and effective communication with staff, contractors, and stakeholders to support safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

- 2–3 years’ MV maintenance experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Valid MV Electrical Authorization with substation experience in testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and construction support.
- Strong knowledge of LV/MV systems, Siemens MV switchgears, transformers, breakers, motors, PTs/CTs/CCVTs, generators, load banks, ATS panels, SCADA, and MV standards.
- Ability to read drawings and apply electrical safety and permit-to-work systems.
- Strong fault-finding, leadership, training, communication (English & Arabic), computer, and teamwork skills with a strong safety focus.
