Job summary

GREENER by IHCC seeks a seasoned Energy Modeler to lead building physics and sustainability strategies across high-profile projects in the region. The role focuses on thermal performance, energy simulations, and certification processes from concept through construction.

You will drive envelope optimization, daylighting, and renewable energy recommendations while ensuring compliance with LEED, ASHRAE standards, and related guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering (Architecture/Mechanical/Electrical/Civil/Environmental) is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in sustainability consulting or building performance engineering.
  • Experience managing 3–5 green building certification projects as Energy Modeler and Consultant.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Lead building physics assessments including thermal performance, heat transfer, moisture control, and envelope optimization.
  • Conduct dynamic energy simulations and whole-building energy modeling using IESVE software.
  • Evaluate daylight availability, glare analysis, and solar radiation.
  • Perform thermal comfort studies and analyze natural ventilation/airflow.
  • Assess building envelope performance including insulation, glazing, shading, and air tightness.
  • Conduct life cycle carbon assessments and embodied carbon analysis.
  • Prepare sustainability reports and technical documentation.

Job description

Lead building physics and energy modeling efforts across green building certification projects, ensuring accurate performance analysis, compliance with international standards, and successful delivery of sustainability strategies from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform building physics assessments including thermal performance, heat transfer, moisture control, and envelope optimization.
  • Conduct dynamic energy simulations and whole-building energy modeling using IESVE software.
  • Evaluate daylight availability, glare analysis, and solar radiation.
  • Perform thermal comfort studies and analyze natural ventilation/airflow using computational methods.
  • Assess building envelope performance including insulation, glazing, shading, and air tightness.
  • Conduct life cycle carbon assessments and embodied carbon analysis.
  • Perform Ventilation Rate Procedure (VRP) calculations.
Certification & Compliance Management
  • Manage LEED certification projects throughout design and construction, including LEED Online documentation.
  • Lead and manage certification processes under LEED, Mostadam, WELL, and similar rating systems.
  • Ensure compliance with ASHRAE 90.1, AHRI, ASHRAE 62.1, and related standards.
Sustainability Strategy & Design Integration
  • Develop sustainability strategies from concept through construction.
  • Integrate passive design principles into architectural and engineering designs.
  • Recommend energy-efficient HVAC, lighting, and renewable energy solutions.
  • Optimize water conservation and resource efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for operational carbon reduction.
Reporting & Documentation
  • Prepare sustainability reports and technical documentation.
  • Maintain professional written and verbal communication with clients and project teams.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in sustainability consulting or building performance engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience with large-scale commercial or mixed-use developments.
  • Experience managing 3–5 green building certification projects as Energy Modeler and Consultant.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
Preferred/Required Certifications:
  • LEED AP (Required)
  • ASHRAE Certifications (Preferred)
Required Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC calculations, system operation, and efficiencies.
  • Strong understanding of building envelope, daylighting, and thermal comfort analysis.
  • Hands-on expertise with IESVE energy modeling software.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
