Job summary

Baker Hughes invites applications for an Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our Drilling Services team in Saudi Arabia. You will troubleshoot, test, assemble, disassemble and inspect mechanical assemblies, supporting repairs and modifications with minimal guidance.

The role requires a 2-year technical diploma or associate degree in Electrical/Electronics, at least 2 years in electro-mechanical functions in oil & gas, strong soldering and measurement skills, and good reading of blueprints and

Qualifications

  • Have a 2 year technical diploma or Associate degree in Electrical/Electronics field or higher.
  • Have at least 2 years of related experience in electro-mechanical function in oil and Gas industry/domain.
  • Have advanced skills in soldering, assembling troubleshooting, of electro-mechanical devices.
  • Have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly prints and parts lists.
  • Be proficient in the use of measurement and gauging equipment and processes.
  • Be proficient in the use of multimeters, megohmmeters, hi-pot testers and other basic instruments.
  • Have a strong written and oral English skills.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing procedures for assembly, disassembly and test verification accuracy.
  • Configuring test stations and systems.
  • Analyzing and interpreting data from environmental tests, and troubleshooting equipment problems.
  • Assisting in the set-up of experiments and the recordings of experimental data in collaboration with Engineering and Reliability groups.
  • Testing and evaluating the performance and, if required, repairing general purpose test equipment.
  • Providing leadership/coaching to other technicians in areas of proven competence.
  • Working in compliance with HS&E policies and procedures.

As an Electro-Mechanical Technician you will troubleshoot, test, assemble, disassemble and perform the visual inspection of mechanical assemblies. Whilst assisting in repairing and modifying non-conforming equipment, you will perform all test with minimal instruction.
