Overview

The Electrical Engineer supports the Senior MEP Engineer in managing the maintenance and performance of all medium and low-voltage power distribution systems within the Primary Nursery Facility at NEOM. This includes electrical substations, switchgear, distribution boards, emergency generators, UPS, lighting, and general power infrastructure. The role is responsible for supervising the execution of preventive, reactive and corrective maintenance activities carried out by the service provider, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, technical standards, and contractual KPIs. The Electrical Engineer supports maintenance planning, monitors spare parts consumption, oversees electrical testing and commissioning activities, and ensures system reliability and energy efficiency across the facility. Collaboration with other engineering disciplines, particularly the Low Current and Mechanical teams, is essential to maintaining safe and seamless MEP operations.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior MEP Engineer in maintaining MV/LV electrical systems, substations, generators, UPS, lighting, and power infrastructure.
  • Monitor preventive, corrective, and reactive maintenance activities in line with approved plans and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Supervise service providers to ensure safe, high-quality work and compliance with electrical safety standards.
  • Assist in developing and improving electrical maintenance programs and schedules.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to ensure system reliability, efficiency, and QA/QC compliance.
  • Assess service provider performance and recommend training or improvements.
  • Monitor spare parts usage and support inventory planning.
  • Assist with asset condition assessments and planning for upgrades or replacements.
  • Support preparation and review of technical documents and maintenance reports.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and support root cause analysis.
  • Assist with commissioning, handover, and closeout of electrical installations.
  • Promote electrical safety and participate in HSE audits and corrective actions.
  • Support energy efficiency initiatives and best maintenance practices.
  • Assist in design reviews, decommissioning activities, and coordination with contractors and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (mandatory).
  • 4-6 years of experience in electrical system design, operation, and maintenance, with good knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
  • Strong understanding of MV/LV power distribution systems, substations, generators, UPS, and lighting systems.
  • Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance planning and execution.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety regulations, HSE practices, and QA/QC procedures.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and review electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Experience in supervising contractors or service providers.
  • Basic knowledge of asset management systems and maintenance reporting.
