Job summary

Qiddiya seeks a Director – Digital Engineering to provide technical leadership across our core digital product streams, ensuring platforms are designed to the highest engineering standards and reusable, scalable architectures. The role governance ensures quality and alignment with Qiddiya’s technology strategy.

You will lead staff engineers, challenge architectural decisions, and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to secure long-term technology interests.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in senior engineering leadership roles across large-scale digital platforms.
• Strong hands-on technical background to challenge engineering decisions.
• Proven experience leading teams in multi-vendor delivery models.
• Experience governing reusable digital platforms, APIs, and scalable architectures.
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps, cloud-native architecture, observability, resiliency, and secure-by-design delivery.
• Experience translating technical risks and recommendations for executives into business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the technical leadership of Qiddiya's core digital product streams, ensuring alignment with target architecture and engineering standards.
• Define and enforce engineering principles around reusability, scalability, resiliency, observability, security, and performance across products and platforms.
• Ensure technical decisions are reviewed and governed with clear ownership.
• Engage at low-level design, architecture, code, integration, infrastructure, and operational levels.
• Challenge vendor proposals and designs to maintain Qiddiya's control over critical engineering decisions.
• Drive creation of reusable patterns, components, services, APIs, and integration approaches.
• Collaborate with architecture, product, delivery, DevSecOps, cloud, and security teams to align delivery with the digital target state.
• Lead Staff Software Engineers embedded within product streams and ensure strong internal engineering capability.
