Job summary

Qiddiya Investment Company seeks a Director - HSE, Heavy Lifting to lead the health, safety and environmental assurance for all crane and lifting operations at the MBS Stadium, part of Qiddiya City's flagship venues and a 2034 World Cup host site. The role is hands‑on and requires deep expertise in heavy lifting on complex construction projects.

You will own the HSE strategy for heavy lifting, review lift plans, manage contractor interfaces, and drive incident investigations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline is required.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent qualifications are required.
  • Minimum 12+ years in HSE with significant crane/heavy lifting exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement site‑wide HSE strategy for heavy lifting including cranes and specialist lifting equipment.
  • Review and approve lift plans, method statements, and risk assessments for critical lifts.
  • Provide technical oversight of crane erection, climbing, and dismantling operations.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions for lifting‑related events.
  • Establish and monitor competency, certification, and training for riggers, banksmen, crane operators, and lifting supervisors.
  • Conduct regular site audits and inspections of lifting equipment and exclusion zones.
  • Coordinate with Management Contractor and design teams on lifting sequencing and logistics.
  • Report lifting‑specific HSE performance to senior leadership with leading and lagging indicators.
  • Champion a strong safety culture across all contractors involved in lifting operations.
