Job summary

Decima International in Riyadh seeks a Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary design for major data center projects. You will coordinate CSA, MEP, ICT, Fire Protection, and security disciplines, ensuring design packages are coordinated, constructible, and aligned with schedule.

You will interface between Owner, designers, consultants, contractors, and client representatives from concept through IFC, construction, commissioning, and closeout.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage multidisciplinary design development from concept through IFC.

Design Manager

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead and coordinate the multidisciplinary design process for major data center projects in Riyadh. The role will ensure design packages are coordinated, constructible, technically compliant, and delivered in line with project requirements and schedule.

The successful candidate will act as a key interface between the Owner, designers, consultants, contractors, and technical disciplines, supporting design development from concept through IFC, construction, commissioning, and closeout.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage multidisciplinary design development from concept through IFC.
• Coordinate CSA, MEP, ICT, Fire Protection, Security, and other technical disciplines.
• Lead multidisciplinary design coordination meetings and track resulting actions.
• Review design packages for technical compliance, completeness, coordination, and constructability.
• Identify design clashes, interface gaps, technical risks, and inconsistencies and drive timely resolution.
• Manage and track RFIs, design comments, submittals, technical clarifications, and outstanding design actions.
• Coordinate closely with designers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and client representatives.
• Support BIM coordination and clash detection / resolution activities.
• Monitor design deliverables against project schedules and elevate delays or constraints.
• Manage design changes, field changes, and design-related impacts during construction.
• Support constructability reviews and Value Engineering initiatives.
• Assist with technical reviews of long-lead equipment and major system packages.
• Ensure design interfaces between architecture, structure, MEP, ICT, security, and specialist systems are properly coordinated.
• Support resolution of site-based design issues during construction.
• Prepare design progress reports, dashboards, and client presentations.
• Maintain clear tracking of design risks, decisions, approvals, and outstanding actions.
• Support testing, commissioning, handover, and project closeout activities from a design perspective.
• Ensure design deliverables comply with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, and client requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Strong experience in multidisciplinary design management and coordination.
• Experience managing complex design packages through concept, design development, and IFC stages.
• Strong understanding of CSA, MEP, ICT, Fire Protection, Security, and other major building systems.
• Strong technical drawing interpretation and design review capabilities.
• Experience managing RFIs, technical submittals, design comments, and clarifications.
• Strong constructability review and design risk management experience.
• Experience coordinating designers, consultants, contractors, and client stakeholders.
• Strong BIM coordination experience, including design clash review and resolution.
• Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication, presentation, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple design priorities in a fast-paced project environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on hyperscale data center or mission-critical projects.
• Experience in large-scale infrastructure, industrial, hospital, power plant, semiconductor, or similarly complex projects.
• Experience with Design-Build delivery models.
• Experience supporting Value Engineering and constructability reviews.
• Familiarity with Procore.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam.
• Familiarity with CxAlloy or similar commissioning platforms.
• PMP certification.
• Professional engineering certification or registration.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Codes and local authority requirements.
• Experience working with hyperscale client standards such as AWS, Microsoft, or Google.
• Experience working on projects in Saudi Arabia or the wider GCC region.
