Job summary

Chalhoub Group is seeking a Delivery Captain to ensure timely delivery of customer orders and safe handling of goods within the assigned region in Saudi Arabia. You will be responsible for loading/unloading, route optimization, and maintaining vehicle condition.

Across daily duties, you will collect returns, manage cash and COD processes, and follow ISO/Quality management standards while upholding safety guidelines and exemplary customer service.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driving license.
• Prior delivery or similar role experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of local roads and routes.
• Basic communication and customer service skills.
• Basic English is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily to Wholesale and Retail Outlets.
• Handle last mile customer delivery and pickup of returns.
• Check orders before delivery and collect returns to warehouse as assigned.
• Ensure cash handling for COD orders per procedure and operate Fareye system.
• Keep vehicle clean and report maintenance or incidents promptly.

What you'll be doing

The Delivery Captain is responsible for delivering the customer orders and collecting the returns with care and on timely basis. You will be responsible for the safe delivery of goods within your appointed region.

Your duties will involve ensuring goods are safely secured, your vehicle is in good condition, loading and unloading the vehicle and taking the quickest route to your destination.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily Deliveries to Wholesale, Retail Outlets.
• Last mile customer delivery.
• Checking the orders before delivery
• Collecting Returns to warehouse as assigned
• Collection of orders from shops for last mile
• Collection of cash from ecom COD customer and handover as per procedure
• Collection of payment using credit card machine for COD ecom. Customers
• Complete all process in Fareye
• Shop-To-Shop Transfers
• Collecting the necessary documents from shops during return
• Report all incidents, occasions of misplaced or lost packages to Logistics Distribution Department
• Comply strictly with route and schedule as assigned
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and minor maintenance tasks when necessary
• Report all maintenance issues
• Keep the assigned vehicles clean inside and out
• Ensure that the company vehicle assigned is used exclusively for company business only
• Report any accidents at first possible instant
• Strict adherence to all traffic and road safety regulations
• Receive (or route) all operating instructions via the Logistics Distribution Department
• To work within, promote and identify improvements in company's Quality Management System as per ISO 9001 standards.
• Immediately report any breach in procedures, company policy or security to supervisor / management.
• Strictly follow, develop and improve standard processes, procedures and work instructions. Also promote adherence to procedures by your staff
• Report all incidents, of any nature and however caused, to their immediate superior completing all necessary documentation promptly and accurately
• Always research to improve all warehouse operations according to company's objectives.
• Ensure that workplace health, safety & environment requirements as per OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and stock.

What you'll need to succeed

• Valid driving license.
• Previous experience in delivery or a similar role is preferred.
• Good knowledge of local roads and routes.
• Basic communication and customer service skills.
• Basic English is preferred.
