Job summary

The Saudi National Bank (SNB) is seeking a Database Manager to lead design, implementation, and maintenance of critical database systems. You will ensure security, performance, and high availability as a senior leader guiding a team of DBAs and developers.

Ideal candidates will possess deep database tech knowledge, strong leadership, and a track record of securing scalable data environments in complex financial operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
• Advanced certifications in database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the performance, integrity, and security of all database systems.
• Implement and monitor database backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
• Ensure high availability and scalability of database systems to support business growth and operational needs.
• Design and implement new database structures and optimize existing ones to improve performance and efficiency.
• Collaborate with application development teams to ensure database integration and alignment with business requirements.
• Enforce database security policies and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations (e.g., SAMA, AML/CTF).
• Conduct regular audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
• Monitor database performance proactively and implement tuning strategies to ensure optimal system performance.
• Analyze system logs and performance metrics to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
• Lead and mentor a team of database administrators and developers.
• Work closely with IT operations, application teams, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless database operations.

Job Requirements:

Nationality:

• Saudi

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
• Advanced certifications in database technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) are a plus.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in database management, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale database environments.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Strong technical knowledge of relational and non-relational database systems.
• Experience with database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
• Strong understanding of database security, access control, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
