Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Cost Engineer for the Ar Rjum project to develop cost forecasts, monitor budgets, and control costs across open pit mining operations.

You will analyze cost trends, prepare accruals, and deliver reports to management, partnering with multiple stakeholders to ensure accurate EAC and project performance. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Project/Construction Management or related fields.
• 8–12 years of relevant experience; alternatively, 12–15 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in EcoSys, PowerBI and Microsoft Office; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cost budgets and accurate cost & cashflow forecasts, utilising the change management system.
• Monitor progress of contractors, verify monthly incurred costs, prepare monthly accruals and provide variance analysis.
• Ensure approved trends and changes are incorporated into the overall project estimate at completion and budget.
• Prepare routine performance reports and special studies related to assigned scope for management.
• Maintain open communications with other organizations to support cost engineering analysis and control activities
