Job summary

SOFITEL in Saudi Arabia seeks a Cost Controller to develop and implement cost control systems, analyze financial data, and prepare detailed cost reports for management. You will conduct regular inventory counts, monitor budget variances, collaborate with department heads to manage budgets, and assist in forecasting and long-term planning.

Strong Excel skills, familiarity with Opera, and CMA/CIMA certification preferred; fluent English is required; ability to work independently in a fast-paced

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Diploma may be considered with extensive experience).
  • Proven experience in cost control, financial management, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial analysis.
  • Excel proficiency and familiarity with financial software and inventory systems (Futurelog, Opera).
  • Excellent analytical, detail-oriented, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Saudi Arabian financial regulations (preferred).
  • Professional certification such as CMA or CIMA (preferred).

  • Prepare and review monthly quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Assist in the development and implementation of cost-saving initiatives
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation
  • Participate in forecasting and long-term financial planning processes
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects or investments
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on cost control procedures and best practices
Qualifications

  • Outstanding organizational and time management abilities
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with Saudi Arabian financial regulations and practices (preferred)
  • Professional certification such as CMA or CIMA (preferred)
  • Prior experience working with Opera or a related system
  • Fluency in English, additional languages are a plus
