Job summary

Michael Page UAE is recruiting for a Permanent Cost Control Engineer position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on developing and maintaining the project cost control system, tracking expenditures, and ensuring alignment with the approved budget.

You will prepare financial dashboards, forecast cash flow, and support value engineering and change management. A strong cost management background and relevant certifications are advantageous for success in this project-focused role.

Qualifications

• Certifications welcomed (PMP/CCP)

Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and maintain the project cost control system aligned with the approved budget.
• Monitor expenditures, commitments, and cost performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare and update cost reports, cash flow forecasts, cost curves, and dashboards for management.
• Coordinate with Planning Engineers to link progress with cost performance and earned value analyses.
• Review subcontractor payments, procurement commitments, and cost allocations.
• Prepare budget revisions, forecasts, and EAC reports throughout the lifecycle.

About Our Client

Job Description

• Develop, monitor, and maintain the project cost control system in accordance with the approved project budget.
• Monitor project expenditures, commitments, and cost performance against approved budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare and update project cost reports, cash flow forecasts, cost curves, and financial dashboards for management review.
• Coordinate with Planning Engineers to integrate project progress with cost performance and earned value analysis.
• Review and verify subcontractor payment applications, procurement commitments, and cost allocations.
• Prepare budget revisions, cost forecasts, and estimate-at-completion (EAC) reports throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify potential cost overruns, financial risks, and budget deviations, and recommend corrective actions.
• Support the evaluation of variation orders, claims, and change orders from a cost impact perspective.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Contracts, Finance, and Construction teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting.
• Monitor project contingency utilization and ensure proper cost coding and cost allocation.
• Assist in preparing monthly management reports, project financial summaries, and executive cost presentations.
• Maintain accurate cost records and ensure compliance with company procedures and project contractual requirements.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
• Professional certification such as PMP, CCP (Certified Cost Professional), or equivalent is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of cost management principles and project controls.
