Job summary

KFSHRC in Riyadh is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to provide technical support for medical and research devices used in patient care and healthcare research.

The role focuses on preventative maintenance, diagnosis of equipment issues, and education of staff, with responsibilities for training Clinical Engineering personnel and students on proper maintenance and operation of biomedical technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Technology or related discipline.
• Two years of related experience with Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

• Plans and executes demand and scheduled preventative maintenance for medical/research equipment.
• Operates and applies basic functions of assigned medical/research equipment.
• Reviews drawings, manuals and instructions to diagnose problems and guide repairs.
• Uses testing tools to perform repair and maintenance on equipment.
• Provides user education and instruction as required.
• Trains other Clinical Engineering staff and students on technical support.
• Adheres to Hospital policies and procedures.
• Supports education, training, and development activities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Summary

Provides for the technical support of medical, diagnostic, therapeutic and analytical devices and systems, utilized for applied patient healthcare and healthcare research.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. Provides for the demand and scheduled preventative maintenance of assigned medical and research equipment, Follows manufacturers' guidelines for this scheduled preventative maintenance.
2. Is competent in the basic operation and application of assigned medical and research equipment.
3. Reviews schematic drawings, manufacturer's instructions and manuals or obtains verbal instructions to diagnose technical problems and facilitates repair and preventative maintenance utilizing this information.
4. Utilizes all required testing instrumental and hand tools required to facilitate repair and preventative maintenance of assigned medical equipment.
5. Provides for user education and instruction, as required.
6. Trains and guides Clinical Engineering Technicians, SCDP participants, Student Interns and other Clinical Engineering staff on the technical support of medical technology, as required.
7. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
8. Participates in self and others' education, training & development, as applicable.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Technology, or other related discipline is required.

Experience Required

Two (2) years of related experience with Bachelor’s is required.
