Job summary

AECOM is seeking a senior railway systems engineer to lead engineering delivery for rolling stock projects in the ME and Africa region. The role requires extensive leadership experience and a track record across railway, metro, or high-speed rail programs.

You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, set technical standards, and liaise with senior management to drive project goals, quality, and on-time delivery in a challenging, on-site environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Railway Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Master's degree in Rail Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Professional certifications in railway systems, project management, or engineering advantageous.
  • Typically 12+ years of experience in rolling stock engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive experience in railway, metro, light rail, or high-speed rail projects.

  • Supports, oversees and coordinates engineering production activities for an operating unit.
  • Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative.
  • Initiates and maintains contact with senior-level management within the company and is skilled in dispute resolution and negotiation of critical issues.
  • Demonstrates mature judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual operations problems, determining operational objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
  • Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.

Job Description
