Job summary

Global Conglomerate invites a seasoned Central Utility Maintenance professional to Saudi Arabia to execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on Central Utility equipment across a steel plant.

You will manage air compressors, cooling towers, pumps, water systems, industrial gases, fire water, HVAC, and utility distribution, ensuring reliability and uninterrupted production. 7 years experience and ITI full-time qualification are required.

Qualifications

• ITI diploma in mechanical maintenance.
• 7 years of maintenance experience in central utilities.
• Experience with rotating equipment and utility systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of Central Utility equipment.
• Maintain air compressors, cooling towers, pumps, and water systems.
• Inspect equipment for vibration/noise/overheating and perform root-cause analyses.
• Coordinate shutdowns and PM schedules per SAP/CMMS.
• Maintain maintenance logs and update work orders.

We have been mandated by a large global conglomerate for the below mentioned position.

Position: Central Utility Maintenance
Location: Saudi Arabia
Experience: 7 Years
Qualification: ITI - Fulltime

Job Purpose

The incumbent will be responsible to execute preventive, predictive, breakdown, and shutdown maintenance activities for Central Utility equipment in an integrated steel plant, ensuring high equipment reliability and uninterrupted supply of utilities such as compressed air, cooling water, process water, industrial gases, fire water, HVAC, and utility distribution systems to all production units.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Maintenance

• Carry out preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of Central Utility equipment.
• Perform maintenance of:
• Air Compressors (Reciprocating/Screw/Centrifugal)
• Industrial Pumps (Centrifugal, Vertical Turbine, Multistage)
• Cooling Towers
• Cooling Water Pumps
• Process Water Pumps
• Fire Water Pumps
• Heat Exchangers
• Chillers
• HVAC Equipment
• Blowers and Fans
• Water Treatment Equipment
• Perform alignment, replacement, overhauling, lubrication, and commissioning of rotating equipment.
• Replace bearings, mechanical seals, couplings, shafts, impellers, valves, and gaskets.

Utility Distribution Maintenance

• Maintain compressed air distribution systems.
• Maintain cooling water and process water pipelines.
• Maintain fire water network and hydrant systems.
• Maintain industrial gas pipelines (Oxygen, Nitrogen, Argon).
• Repair pipeline leakages and replace damaged valves and fittings.

Inspection & Troubleshooting

• Inspect rotating equipment for vibration, abnormal noise, overheating, leakage, and wear.
• Identify equipment defects and carry out root cause analysis.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate vibration monitoring and condition monitoring activities.

Shutdown & Preventive Maintenance

• Participate in annual and planned shutdown maintenance activities.
• Execute PM schedules as per SAP/CMMS.
• Ensure timely completion of maintenance work orders.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance by following isolation procedures.

Maintenance Planning Support

• Coordinate with Operations, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams.
• Assist in spare parts identification and consumption tracking.
• Maintain maintenance history and equipment records.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and confined space procedures.
• Ensure compliance with plant safety standards and HSE policies.
• Use appropriate PPE during maintenance activities.
• Participate in safety audits and toolbox talks.

Continuous Improvement

• Participate in TPM, Kaizen, and Reliability Improvement initiatives.
• Suggest modifications to improve equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
• Support energy conservation initiatives.

Documentation

• Maintain maintenance logs, inspection records, and equipment history.
• Record breakdown reports and corrective actions.
• Update SAP/CMMS work orders after completion.
