What’s the Job?

As a Catering & Event Manager at InterContinental Al Ahsa, you will support the Sales & Marketing Team in managing and coordinating social events and group activities booked through the sales department.
This role involves a mix of Reactive and Proactive Sales in relation to events and catering business.

Your Day-to-Day
People
  • Negotiate food and beverage prices, function space, and hotel services within approved booking guidelines.
  • Confirm all group requirements in writing to clients and relevant hotel departments through sales contracts, addendums, pricing confirmations, group resumes, and/or Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Work closely with the sales team to service existing accounts and solicit new business.
  • Upsell client events and manage function space and room block inventory as assigned.
  • Assist in the implementation of the hotel’s catering and conference strategy.
  • Coordinate closely with all hotel departments to ensure seamless execution of agreed services.
  • Handle incoming calls and administrative correspondence and route them to the appropriate sales team members.
  • Provide direct or indirect coaching and guidance to team members, if applicable.
Financial & Administration
  • Respond to client inquiries and special requests, confirming final details such as dates, times, meeting space, and room requirements.
  • Maintain regular follow-ups with clients and ensure all information is accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare proposals, letters, contracts, and maintain updated databases.
  • Complete departmental monthly and ad-hoc reports as required.
  • Conduct sales calls targeting assigned segments in line with the sales plan set by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Prepare and submit reports as requested by the Director of Sales & Marketing or direct reporting line.
Guest Experience
  • Deliver the InterContinental Brand Promise and service standards in all daily activities.
  • Resolve guest requests and complaints promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction, escalating major issues when necessary.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through effective communication with all hotel departments.
  • Coordinate special requests, VIP arrangements, and other service needs with relevant departments.
  • Liaise with external vendors (e.g., floral, audio/visual) when required and follow up to ensure event setups meet client expectations.
Responsible Business
  • Promote the hotel and InterContinental brand positively within the local market.
  • Comply with hotel safety, security, and fire life safety procedures.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by management during operational needs.
  • Monitor and ensure all events are set up, refreshed, and broken down according to scheduled times and procedures.
  • Prepare, distribute, and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and contracts in a timely manner.
  • Conduct site inspections and banquet facility tours for prospective clients.
  • Maintain and update client files daily in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
What We Need from You
Qualifications
  • Education: University degree or equivalent.

  • Languages: Fluent in English and Arabic (spoken and written).
