Job summary

KFSHRC in Riyadh is seeking a Cardiovascular Technologist to perform non-invasive cardiac investigations and support procedures across hospital areas including the Cardiac Cath Lab, OR, and ICU. You will ensure safe testing environments and accurate data collection for physician interpretation.

The role requires registration with SCHS and a relevant healthcare credential. You will be responsible for patient monitoring, documentation, infection control, and on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate Degree / Diploma in Cardiovascular Technology, Cardiac Ultrasound or equivalent healthcare field is required.
• Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialist (SCHS) is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs non-invasive cardiac investigations such as ECG, Holter monitoring, stress testing, pacemaker and ICD analysis, blood pressure monitoring, echocardiography procedures including TEE and SE.
• Produces meaningful diagnostic information and preliminary reports for physician review.
• Documents and logs all patient events and procedures.
• Ensures safe environment and operation of equipment, calibrates and maintains devices.
• Cleans and disinfects clinical equipment and keeps rooms stocked and organized.
• Participates in on-call roster and assists with emergency resuscitation procedures.

Job description

Summary

Works independently and ensures a safe and proper environment for testing in the laboratory, on the wards, in the operating room, Cardiac Cath Lab, Emergency Room (OR) or any other area as required. Recognizes and eliminates artefacts to produce meaningful diagnositc information which is presented to the physician for interpretation.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. 1. Performs non-invasive cardiac investigations such as but not limited to ECG, Holter monitoring, stress testing, pacemaker and ICD analysis, blood pressure monitoring, echocardiography procedures including Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE), and Stress Echocardiography (SE).
2. 2. Performs urgent procedures on critically ill patients portably on the wards, in the OR, Cardiac Cath Lab, ICUs, Emergency Room, and any other location as requested and as required.
3. 3. Assists physicians with procedures in the OR, Cardiac Cath Lab, or any other setting as required.
4. 4. Observes and monitors patients during procedures, notes signs of distress and/or medical emergencies, takes remedial action, and notifies the nurse and/or physician as necessary.
5. 5. Produces meaningful diagnostic information, obtains measured and calculated data, and makes preliminary reports for review by the reporting physician.
6. 6. Documents and logs all patient events and procedures.
7. 7. Ensures a safe environment and safe operation of equipment. Monitors equipment and reports any hazards or needs for repair and maintenance to Senior Cardiovascular Technologist or Manager. Calibrates and operates equipment as required.
8. 8. Cleans and disinfects clinical equipment, following appropriate Laboratory policies, Hospital policies or manufacturer instructions.
9. 9. Ensures procedure rooms are clean, tidy, and well stocked with supplies, linen, and other necessary items.
10. 10. Participates in the on-call roster and assists with emergency resuscitation procedures.
11. 11. Understands sterile technique for Cardiac Cath Lab, OR, and isolation patients.
12. 12. Understands infection control policies and all Non-Invasive Cardiology Lab.
13. 13. Complies with the section policies, procedures and protocols. Follow the section quality improvement program in accordance with CBAHI, JCI, SFDA and other accreditation agencies standards.
14. 14. Complies with Radiation safety rules and regulation of the hospital and in accordance with KACST and K.A. CARE and other national or international regulation bodies.

Education

Bachelor’s or Associate Degree /Diploma in Cardiovascular Technology, Cardiac Ultrasound or equivalent Healthcare field is required.

Experience Required

Grade 08:

Two (2) years of related experience with Bachelor’s, or four (4) years with AssociateDegree/Diploma is required.

Grade 09:

• Four (4) years as Cardiovascular Technologist, Non-Invasive at KFSH&RC, or (Grade 08) related experience is required.
• Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years.
• Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education [CME].
