This cross-trained role focuses on decoration and finishing, with flexibility to assist baking tasks as daily production needs arise. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years experience in cake decorating, baking, pastry or similar production.
• Hands-on cake decoration with piping, drawing and finishing techniques.
• Basic to solid baking experience including mixing, portioning, baking.
• Comfort moving between decorating and baking tasks as needed.
• Consistent and reliable technique with strong attention to detail.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Reliable, flexible, and willing to support different production areas.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Passion for baking, cake decorating, and creating high-quality products.

Responsibilities

• Carry out piping, drawing, finishing, and other decorating tasks on assigned cakes.
• Support senior decorators with more complex or high-volume cake orders when required.
• Assist with baking-line activities including mixing, portioning, baking, and other production tasks.
• Follow standard recipes, decorating guidelines, and production processes consistently.
• Move between decorating and baking sections based on production volume and operational requirements.
• Ensure cakes are completed accurately and to the required quality and presentation standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient working environment.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety standards at all times.
• Monitor ingredients and materials and flag shortages or production issues.
• Work collaboratively with the wider production team to ensure orders are completed on time.
