Brand Manager Role

We are looking for a highly motivated, hands-on, entrepreneurial Brand Manager based in Istanbul to be part of Opontia's Brand Management team. This is a unique opportunity for a self-starter who will be a key part of the Opontia growth team and will be responsible for managing a portfolio of fast-growing eCommerce brands across multiple channels and markets.

The ideal candidate is excited to take end-to-end ownership of their brands, ensuring their day-to-day success, including listing content and creatives, P&L and financial health, marketing tactics, customer service, risk mitigation and compliance, inventory management, and developing strategies and tactics for growth. Your success will be based on your intimate knowledge of the markets and listings you manage and your ability to diagnose issues and develop action plans.

P&L Ownership and Management: Set and measure the performance of brand-level sales and margin targets and provide regular monitoring of brand financials; produce, analyze, and act upon daily, weekly, and monthly reporting for all products; work with the Head of Brands to steer the strategy on optimizing the P&L and increasing profitability; coordinate with the finance team to ensure an accurate reflection of P&L movements.

Growth strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive growth strategies to rapidly scale brands; focusing on revenue growth management (promotion management, digital strategy, pricing, mix optimization, product/category expansion, inventory planning, etc.) and operational efficiency/excellence (centralization, consolidation, sourcing improvements, SOPs, etc.)

Product development: Evaluating market/competition and understanding customer needs to develop new product/category roadmaps per brand. Leading the team in launching new products end to end (sourcing, budgeting, manufacturing, and testing) alongside the central sourcing/planning team. Coordinating with the marketing team to put in place a successful launch plan.

Brand positioning: Understand existing/potential customer groups and brand USPs to develop clear brand positioning in the market. Guide link revenue management, marketing, and product roadmap efforts with the brand positioning

You will maintain several brand management processes with all departments, such as Sourcing, Planning, Operation, etc. synchronously with your stakeholder vision.

What the ideal candidate looks like

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in product management, preferably at a startup or other fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of e-commerce experience, preferably working within Amazon or another marketplace ecosystem
  • Experience in the Saudi market and knowledge of Eastern European and GCC markets is a plus
  • Fluency in Arabic and English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • A highly entrepreneurial and analytical self-starter who can manage multiple projects
  • Sound time-management and organizational skills; Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills with the ability to make quick judgment calls under pressure.
