Welspun Pipes Company seeks a Robotics Engineer to design, program, integrate, and maintain robotic systems in our manufacturing environment. The role focuses on boosting production efficiency, product quality, and workplace safety through advanced automation technologies.
You will develop and modify robot programs for ABB, KUKA, FANUC, and Yaskawa, integrate robots with PLCs and sensors, and lead safety-compliant automation projects across plant cells and lines.
The Robotics Engineer is responsible for designing programming integrating and maintaining robotic systems used in manufacturing processes The role focuses on improving production efficiency product quality and workplace safety by implementing advanced automation and robotic technologies
Develop and modify programs for industrial robots e g ABB KUKA FANUC Yaskawa Integrate robots into existing production lines ensuring compatibility with PLCs sensors and machine controllers Set up robotic work cells including end-effectors safety systems fixtures and tooling
Diagnose issues with robot controllers servomotors sensors vision systems and communication interfaces Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime Analyze root causes of robot failures or performance issues and implement permanent solutions
Identify opportunities for automation and robotics within the manufacturing process Improve cycle times product consistency and operational efficiency Optimize robot paths speeds and logic to reduce energy use and increase throughput
Design robotic cells including layouts safety guards communication networks and electrical motion control wiring Coordinate with mechanical electrical and control engineering teams on equipment specifications Support installation and commissioning of new robotic systems and automation equipment
Ensure compliance with industrial safety standards ISO OSHA CE Conduct risk assessments for robotic cells and implement safety interlocks and emergency stops Prepare safety documentation lockout tagout procedures and technical manuals
Maintain records of robot performance alarms cycle times and maintenance activities Develop training materials and train operators technicians on robot operation and safety Prepare automation improvement reports and cost-benefit analyses
Strong expertise in industrial robotic systems FANUC ABB KUKA Yaskawa Mitsubishi Skilled in robot programming languages RAPID KRL KAREL TP programming etc Knowledge of PLCs vision systems sensors SCADA and motion control Hands-on experience with mechanical systems pneumatics and end-effector design Strong analytical and problem-solving ability Understanding of manufacturing workflows and process engineering
Bachelor s degree in Robotics Mechatronics Electrical Mechanical or Automation Engineering 5 10 years of industrial experience in automation or robotics Experience in heavy industry automotive metal processing electronics or general manufacturing preferred
Industrial manufacturing floor with machinery conveyors and robotic cells Requires occasional extended hours during system commissioning or breakdowns Close coordination with production maintenance quality and safety teams
