About the role

You’ll play a key role in the design, development, integration, and testing of robotics platforms, autonomous systems, mechatronic products, industrial automation solutions, and advanced technology demonstrators.

Working within a multidisciplinary innovation environment, you’ll help transform ideas into functional prototypes and commercially viable technologies.

What you’ll be doing

Product Development & System Integration

• Lead development of mechatronic products from concept through to prototype
• Define system architectures integrating mechanical, electrical, software, and control subsystems
• Support requirements definition, design reviews, risk assessments, verification, and validation activities
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions

Robotics & Autonomous Systems

• Develop robotic and autonomous platforms for industrial and research applications
• Integrate sensors including LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, encoders, and environmental sensors
• Support navigation, localisation, path planning, and sensor fusion applications
• Implement robotic software frameworks and autonomous system architectures

Controls & Automation

• Design and implement control algorithms for electromechanical systems
• Develop motion control solutions for motors, actuators, and robotic mechanisms
• Design and commission industrial automation systems using PLCs, HMIs, and industrial communication protocols
• Troubleshoot, optimise, and improve system performance

Embedded Systems Development

• Develop embedded control solutions using microcontrollers and embedded processors
• Integrate sensors, actuators, communication modules, and data acquisition systems
• Support firmware development, hardware bring‑up, and system integration activities

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
• 7+ years of experience in robotics, mechatronics, automation, embedded systems, or control engineering
• Strong understanding of electromechanical systems and system integration
• Experience developing functional prototypes and technology demonstrators
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Highly desirable skills

• Autonomous Systems, Sensor Fusion, MATLAB / Simulink, Python, C / C++, PLC Programming, Motion Control Systems, STM32 / ARM-Based Platforms, SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software

Bonus experience

• Product Development Organisations, Advanced Manufacturing, Commercialisation of New Technologies
