Job summary

BHIG—Blue Hydrogen Industrial Gases in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, seeks an ASU Lead Operator to manage operating staff and run the Air Separation Unit and common area on shift. The role emphasizes safety leadership, process control, and on‑the‑job training to ensure reliable, compliant operations.

The Lead Operator will coordinate with Engineering and Maintenance, manage permits, and support commissioning, startup, and shutdown activities while maintaining strict document control and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical, or chemical process operations preferred.
• An associate technical degree will be considered based on experience and competence.
• 8–10 years of plant operations experience with >2 years in a supervisory role is expected.
• Proficiency in English speaking and writing.
• Strong knowledge of EH&S requirements and safety leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead operator on shift: supervise staff and ensure safe, reliable operation of the ASU and common area.
• Plan and oversee day‑to‑day operations, safety work permits, LOTO, and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance; train and support staff; supervise commissioning, startup, and shutdown activities.
• Provide reports on shift production progress and plant status; ensure customer demand is met with safe, efficient operation.
