Job summary

Lean is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to ship real enhancements to infrastructure used by clients moving money and accessing financial data. You’ll work on Java Spring Boot services running on Kubernetes, with AI-assisted coding via Claude Code and a generous usage quota.

Qualifications

Final-year student or graduate within the last 12 months in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Hands-on experience using agentic coding tools as a core part of your workflow (Claude Code).
Working proficiency in Java, C++, Python, or similar.
Fundamentals: version control, testing, and debugging.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and debug software enhancements from ticket to production with a mentor.
Use Claude Code to raise quality and velocity and build patterns for its use.
Participate in code reviews and provide feedback.
Learn the team's tools and workflows to ship early weeks.
Join stand-ups, planning, and reviews and flag risks early.
Understand clients, end-users, and the regulated environment.
Engage beyond the team in company events and cross-team work.
