Job summary

Lean is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to contribute to production-ready Java Spring Boot services running on Kubernetes. You will ship enhancements under a mentor’s guidance and use Claude Code to improve quality and velocity.

Qualifications

• Final-year student or graduate within the last 12 months in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience using agentic coding tools as part of workflow (Claude Code).
• Proficiency in Java, C++, Python, or similar.
• Fundamentals: version control, testing, and debugging.
• Projects outside coursework: side project, hackathon, open-source, or internship.
• Strong problem-solving and clear written communication.
• Independence with good judgment to ask for help when needed.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and debug software enhancements from ticket to production with mentor review.
• Use Claude Code to raise quality and velocity and establish good patterns for usage.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Learn the team's tools, languages, and workflows quickly to ship early in the internship.
• Join stand-ups, planning, reviews, and flag risks of slipping deadlines.
• Build understanding of clients, end users, and the regulated environment.
• Engage beyond the team in company events and cross-team work.
